When they changed to the newer HDMI models, did the power lead/converter change?

yeah, every new revision of 360 (there have been about 6)
has a new power supply. the only one that fits every singel revision is the first one, but that uses the most power.

Do you know of a list of what power packs work on what consoles and how to identify them?

its something to do with the voltage.
if you search ebay it should tell you which is which but its best to go for the original one. thats what i use, although i have several others if ur after one
