[Mk2] [NA] Clutch bleeding problems

Hello again all...

Have recently changed my engine and upon doing so, when I disconnected my clutch flexi to engine I lost quite a bit of fluid:-(

My problem is that now I have re-connected every thing I cant seem to bleed the little blighter in!

No matter how much I pump and turn the screw I cant seem to get any resistance at all!

Any ideas fellas?

Oh...when the clutch is depressed and the valve is open, the liquid only comes out very slowly unlike the usual squirt that one wood expect:-(

Thanx for your help but this method just aint working... Am thinking about forcing compressed air down from the top up tank!

Or maybe some suction on the bleed nipple...

Have pumped and twisted for half an hour to no avail

Yes the vacuum method will work.

But you could also try this:

(i) Make sure that the rear of the car is raised. (bubbles will tend to move to the highest point.)

(ii) Fabricate a very long hose to place over the bleed nipple. Route this vertically through the engine bay and clip it to the engine lid. This way any bubbles will be 'encouraged' to leave the slave due to gravity.

This together with the techniques already described will clear the air out of the system.
