Rev 1 Spoiler problem

Post by petexa »

Hi guys,

Got a slight problem with my spoiler, the paint is deteriorating very rapidly for some reason?
I was looking at getting a whole new spoiler and I was wonder if the Rev 3 would be a straight swap over or will I have to change the sides on the rear wings? :-k
If it is a straight swap and if has one spare in my colour, it would be greatly appreciated \:D/
Hope someone can help

Morning mate. Bad news I'm afraid since once you remove the rev1 spoiler you'll be left with holes in the bootlid that don't line up with the rev 3 screws and likewise you'll also have three holes in each wing where the rev1 spoiler 'sides' fix.... all will need welding/filling and spraying. Your aerial will also look odd as it sits proud of the wings in order for it to sit at the top of the spoiler 'sides'. A lot cheaper to just get the existing spoiler resprayed. If you really want the rev3 spoiler look best to buy a complete rev3 bootlid and spoiler... this way you just have to worry about the 6 holes in the wings and correcting the aerial (I just bought a 2nd hand rev 3 aerial). Good luck with it.

I reckon £80-120 dependent on the shop. £50 to do the spoiler alone.

i got quoted 120 do get it done but have since resprayed the whole car myself :D

the holes aren't actually that big, the one for the aerial is the worst.

i'd deffo go for the rev 3 though, once it's done then you can just get a new spoiler with bootlid attached everytime you fancy a change!
