Unfortunately for them they are not able to do it safely, so ergo anyone who does is obviously driving dangerously.

Driving a car within the speed limit but exceeding its grip is probably not illegal, but does that still make it safe and right?

how do YOU know where the risk is? what is around the corner?
do you have built in radar?
I give up!
I don't need built in rader, it's called looking ahead.

I get my thrills from accelerating to 70 mph from rest in sub 5 seconds

Which, ironically, could well see your car confiscated via a couple of S.59s![]()

It's all about interpretation when it comes to things as we're discussing here. Some BiBs may give you a gentle rollicking if caught, some may have you up on a dangerous driving charge.
Thing is, everyone knows the risks, and as long as you do play within the limits of yourself, your car and have a great awareness of what's around you
(as I believe Lauren does looking over her posts), then the only person you're really going to hurt is yourself.
If you're prepared to accept that responsibility, then each to their own I say.

Yeah your observation skills and looking ahead must be top notch seeing as you've had 25 points for speeding![]()

Unless its on of those average cameras?

Read up on S.59, it's the scariest piece of law passed for years.Basically though, any policeman can give you a ticket based on S.59 if they consider you to be using your car in a way that could scare others: Having a loud exhaust will do it, as will a loud stereo and certainly accelerating briskly.
On top of this, if they give you another one then they can take your car off you and have it crushed.
No jury, no court case, all based on the personal opinion of one officer.
There's more to it of course, but that's the basics.Scary, isn't it?

By the sound of it that sets a very dangerous precedent and I really can't imagine it'd be too long before someone instigates a test case.I'm sure
some footballer would fall foul of it
before long and then we can sit back and watch the fun.
Just sounds FAR too open to abuse to go unchallenged for long.

Sliding a car around is not a difficult thing to do.
on the road it's illegal.Lauren, you are full of xxxx with your attitude of it's all right as it's not necessarily illegal exceeding the limit of grip on the road and drifting round a roundabout isn't obviously illegal like speeding so it's ok as well.
bull$h1t, utter bull$h1t.
If it's not neceesarily illegal then it's clearly not necessarily legal either and if drifting round a roundabout isn't obviously illegal like speeding then it's clearly not obviously legal either so stop fart arsing around with the English language and accept you're xxxxxx wrong

It seems to be alright for EVO magazine and top gear and fifth gear to do both published for public consumption and on TV.![]()
If it isn't obviously illegal your point is?

quote from the sticky at the top of this section
Please note that IMOC Admin would ask you not to post any details of reckless driving, or any illegal activities- including
(but not limited to) speeding.
If you do post something which breaks these rules then we may moderate you, or may have to release your details to any law enforcement agency which requests them.

You may think we are just being pedantic, but this is a public forum, and as such open to anybody and everybody who might be interested in what you are up to in your car- track day organisers, your insurance company, the police etc etc.
We don't want to get put in the situation where somebody is asking us for member information because of posts made in here, so just don't do it.It's really not very hard.
