[Mk2] [Generic] Question about coilovers and drop links

Hi folks

I have a set of BC coilovers to fit and am going to lower the 2 by approximately 40mm. I am going to get the front and rear droplinks replaced at the same time. Am I able to fit OEM drop links or do I need to get adjustable ones??

Any comments would be appreciated.

you should get adjustable ones m8...whiteline do really pukka ones, very strong and durable...but they do cost a lot...£100 ish a pair

if you got the time and the tools to make your own this seems like a good idea...after you've had the shanks made up, and tapped you could do with finding a way of getting a dust gator around the rose joints, and make sure you have the right lenght shank with 10 mm adjustment either way...lets us know how you get on.

Remind me what drop you have on the front and rear. I'm looking for no gap between the tyre and the arch. Pretty sure you've gone for that look as well.

it could go lower but with the width of my wheels it rubs on the arch think i might need to remove my wheel spacers the rear could go a lot lower but would look right with the front up in the air, i have had my rear arches rolled though

I noticed you have that air scoop on the drivers side. I am thinking of getting one too. However, where did you get it and also is it easy to install it yourself?

its on the passenger side ye its easy to fit, remove the original side panel then are two screws on the window spoiler remove them then refit them when the scoop is on
mine came from supra car developments over 9 years ago , think there are afew places that sell them thou

Gonna hunt one down then. Does it make any difference to cooling? I get warning light after some enthusiastic driving atm. Stock engine cooling fans etc.

a lot of people say it makes cooling worse,due to it changing the flow of air in the engine bay, it wasnt actually ment for turbos it was ment for N/A it would of had the air filter inside it if it was an original TOMS , ive got it cos i like the look of them.

as for cooling get your self an engine bay fan conversion ROGUES do a good one thats whats on mine comes with twin fans for now you could unplug the sensor on the engine lid which will make the interccoler fan run all the time (when ignition on )

Not sure about BC but with Tein, you can use OEM rears, but will need shorter ones on the front, with 40mm drop.

standard length drop links fit all round fine on BCs
