[Mk2] [Turbo] Uprated wastegate actuator

Post by thepest »

Any gains to be seen by upgrading the stock waste-gate actuator?
The stock does tend to trail off some boost after 5500 RPM.

What about pre-loading the stock actuator? how much should you give it?

the std actuator is not adjustable.

the boost tailing off is due to the fact the turbo can't flow enough air at the higher revs, not due to the boost control.

The std actuator can be pre-loaded and yes driveability will improve.

I have tried this successfully.

Yes I have preloaded the actuator as well
using flat washers.
Can make a lot of difference
on an original tired and worn actuator.

Let the force be with you......
