Doesn't matter, it's slim because it can be, project natale for the 360 is gonna blow everything away!

Nope. Only a colour change and the addition of HDMI. The PS3 has already been through at least 3 or 4 different minor changes like that that I can think of.

The PS3 Slim is fugly. The PS3 Fat isn't exactly a thing of beauty, but this really looks horrible when you site it next to the controllers.

to me it looks like a cheap alternative. ok the ps3 is a little on the large size but it does look stylish, surely they should go along the same lines with the slim?

I find it funny how Sony seem to bring out "Slim line" versions of their playstations hoping that it will boost sales although it probably does but i think it's stupid

As mentioned above, Project Natal ftw \:D/ - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPIbGnBQ ... re=related

the core became an arcade, the premium got a 60gb hd over a 20gb and the elite was realeased. there were several limited editon aswell. the xb360 has been out alot longer than the ps3 and has a LOT LESS REVISIONS.

the ps3 was released with a 60gb hd then a 40, thena limited 160gb and 80gb hardrives....in three years.

HDD size aside, the only only real changes on either console, to my mind, is the addition of HDMI on the 360 and the exclusion of backwards compatability on the PS3.

Now give it a frickin rest will you, this is about a PS3 slimline, not ANOTHER 360 Vs PS3 argument. ](*,)

Another thing to note for any one considering buying their first PS3 is the potential it's going to drop, drastically in price soon. Read in the paper yesteday it could come down to as low as £200ish

So instead of having an imaginary friend, you can have an XBox generated friend?

i bought my fat PS2 when it first came out for £400? i travelled a lot and hated the bulkiness  then a slim one finally comes out later and cheaper #-o

i thought they might do the same with the PS3 so never bought one. What a suprise when i suddenly read that a slim one is coming out! It may be ugly but more practical imo plus it's gonna be cheaper \:D/

Some of us get lonely  8-[

It's looks pretty cool though. I think when Microsoft release things for the xbox they are good updates such HDMI, new menus and project natal. Where as sony make their updates worse/same such as removing backwards compatibility and just making the whole thing smaller.

Anyway as mentioned above by matt - this isn't a PS3 vs Xbox thread

I prefer the fat one cos its never bothered me how big it was.

Good to see they are finally doing something though.

Theyve been getting killed lately where the 360 has continued to improve.

Looks like Asda are starting a price war on the PS3 but this will help dry out the big units too as Sony won't be replacing them to make way for the Slim. The Slim runs cooler and doesn't batter your electric bill as much as the fat ones either (revisions to the motherboard since it launched have been on going) an article in a consumer mag slated the PS3 as being the most wattage hungry appliance you can put in your home :)
