Now officially selling up:( On ebay 15 Mins to go

Post by Munnsy »

Just trying to fathem out my next stage of tune really, even debating wether to sell
So on this basis i need an idea from you guys as to what you thin she is worth.

Ill give a detailed list of the spec, not sure wether i should even consider breaking her  but will see
here you go anyway

Mileage is showing 115000 kms and has recently had new mot and 6mnths tax

Outside

staggered 17" alloys with new tyres on the front and nearly on limits on the rear, tyre sizes are 245 on the rear and 215 on the front.Running also 10mm spacers (hubcentric) on the front and 10mm on the rear.

Rolled arches to stop any rubbing issues

G-reddy style front lip

Loweredf 40mm on i think g-max springs

Clear fron bumper indicators

Tinted rear windows so all legal

Later revision rear spoiler (best in my opinion to suit the mr2)

Single side vent modification Professionaly done £80

Interior

Half leather seats with minimal wear as they have been covered with toyota seat covers for most of the time they have been in the car, plus the car is only ever used weekends so not used very often.

All new leather gear and handbrake gaitors with new upholstered gearknob to suite

New steering wheel and hub adaptor, alot smaller than the stock but not too small

Digital In dash boost gauge Apexi Avcr electronic boost controller

Original Man in Dandism matts in good condition

Sub and box behind passenger seat (10" vibe) run by amp, also have uprated door speakers, and also speakers installed in the cubby box.All run by an alpine headunit Approx cost for all this is £300

Engine

Apexi power fc en gine management and mapped by ryan @2Bar tuning plus hand controller

Blitz nur spec exhaust from turbo back, Fantatsic sound note, is loud but ive always said its loud for a purpose

TD06 20G turbo charger with 38mm Tial Wastgate and screamer pipe Refurbed with approx 500/800 miles on it (still under warranty)

Carbonetic flywheel and clutch kit, Again very expensive but you get what you pay for, car revs very freely and the clutch is very user friendly

Sard 850cc side feed injectors with stock rail and fpr

Uprated Fuel pump in tank (walbro)

St205 Chargecooler conversion,with overhauled st205 pump

New fuel filter

APEXI Filter

Various breathers etc

Twin engine bay fan system built and sold by rogue motorsport

Blitz Dump valve

Front and rear strut braces

Earls Braided brake line hoses all round

Brakemaster cylinder stopper

Gearlinkage bearings replacement kit

New cambelt fitted along with fuel filter, gearbox oil etc etc (about a yr ago)

The list is endless,

The car is religeously maintained with all relevant oil changes etc running on top grade oil and toyota filters.

The car is running 1.15 bar, starts first time evrey time, even after not using it all week

it's hard to say a price mate as i have seen cars go with a lot more mods for 5k, maybe get 6k+ if you broke her but that takes time, not just to break but to wait for potential buyers :(

if i were you i would forge a bottom end or wait for one to turn up second hand, fit it yourself and whack the boost up/get her mapped, i think you have everything else in place for a healthy 450 bhp :-k

that way have a bit of fun then when the time is right sell/break her, seriously though, don't fall at the final hurdle, the fun to be had with Ferrari beating power will keep a smile on your face morning, noon and night...

p.s. can't believe your driving about a 340 bhp car with minimal tread on the back, especially after your past experiences [-X

lol, legal tread
Last lesson i learn was all to do with respect for the car in the damp ](*,)

Your right marty, it is the last hurdle but i feel a need for change, 5 seats and new project. I have been working the idea for a few months now and when it comes to the push, ive never been able to go through with it.

Ideally i really dont want to break the car but if it comes to it, then i will but ideally it would be great to sell as a whole.
Current cars on the web are selling stock for rev3 at around the 3000 mark give or take a few hundred but im not sure people want to buy these cars at the minute.
Im just not sure what to put her up for as a bench mark, i am willing to swallow some of the costs from the mods but in the real world as everyone else, i want as much for it as i can get.

Just need a few figures thrown at me to give me an idea, ive put the car on ebay just out of curiosity to be honest and have had a few offers of 3K  but nothing serious.

Will have to see how it all tails out, dont want to get rid, but also want something newer but worried im going to regret

if you are serious about selling but not wanting to break then sell your mods seperately and replace with standard bits and stick a mbc in there running 1.1 bar, then advertise the car locally/internet etc... , someone will buy it for around 3k-4k depending on whats left and with the sale of the mods should see you with a good return :-k

It's the only way in this climate :eye:

Forggies and you are sorted for real big power.

I know you were a tad disapointed at the Dyno the other week, but you are so close to getting it spot on, it would seem a shame to give up now :thumleft: .

Also If you think an engine is going to set you back £4000, what car could you get for £4000 that will be as close to a 400bhp MR2

In light of that I will offer you 20 B&H Silver & Mars bar

Seriously tho I would have said £5000 but you would prob have to wait for the "right" buyer.

When I had mine in the sale section I got offered £2500..... £1400 less than the engine cost to build :eye: :pale: #-o

Sorry Dave I started writing that before your response to Marty lol.

If you are sort of decided on selling, you would prob get best value selling some of your bigger mods, AVCR, PFC etc then selling your car with stock replacements like Marty says.

(Give me a shout if you do go down this route, as I might buy the PFC :thumleft: )

what you both are saying i couldnt agree more with, but its financially takng the next step.
I dont think i would come close to even 4500 let alone 5000 at the minute which is crazy but thats modifying for you ](*,)

I think i will let the auction run for the rest of its course and see how she gets on, i was to be honest hoping on 4000 for it but even then that seems a stretch

I love my car to absolute pieces, nevber ever had a car for so ong and not got bored of it, but i still get the odd itch and feel a need for change :-k

cheers

I am partly in the same thinkings as yourself at the moment. I don't know whether to buy a different car and sell my tubby or stick with the it.

Problem is i still really like my tubby and if i were to get a different car i would want it to be just as good if not better than mine. Problem is it isn't easy to find a car for around the price i would sell mine for that has the same characteristics as the mr2.

I know the feeling of itchy feet, it always seems to occur when i'm on Piston heads for some reason

Personally i'm not making hasty decisions that i may regret, at the end of the day of course it's up to you :thumleft:

my biggest problem as i have said is the mr2 is so very under-rated.
For the money you couldnt get another car with the same grin factor.
Im also worried about going for something like a 200sx, skyline, rx7 and regreting getting rid of my car ](*,)
wish i could have the best of both worlds and own 1 of each  :thumleft:

Yeah, a 200sx i would defo have - would have to be modified though. RX7, from what i have heard i wouldn't buy one thinking it is defo going to be reliable, it's funny when looking thorugh the ads on PH an RX7 is the car i have mainly seen have an engine rebuild

Skylines i have heard are reliable as long as you dont try to tune them on the cheap and do a proper job - that is definately another car i would be interested in too.

What ever you choose, just make sure you spend a while picking out a good one otherwise you may then regret it!

Hmm, I'd think about buying this for the right price.
How do you think she'd hold up as a track weapon?
I'm after a mk2 Turbo to race prep for next seasons MR2 Championship that's all.

Sorry to thread crap...but RX7's periodically need rebuilds as the rotor tips wear, and the seals go
