Apexi Power FC

Ok, I have just got my car. It has an Apexi Power FC installed and set up.
When I put my foot down, the orange 'engine' light flashes.
Does any one have ideas?
Knock Sensor???

On my own car the knock warning light is red...from memory. But this may be due to my car having started life as a UK N/A?

Have you got the Commander with your Power FC? If so, what knock value is it showing? My own cars warning light comes on when 60 or more is reached.

Hi Mike, I c u have the FC and com.
Well, I dont have the commander, I just remember reading an article where somebody, setting up the Power FC used the 'falshing' orange engine light to signify something, (i think they turned that off once set up was complete.)
I'm not even sure wht 'knock' is?

You need to do an ecu error code check.
Some one on here should have a link, if not do a search on google for `Toyota MR2 error codes`.
This will explain in full how to do it, it only takes a minute.
Basically its a way of finding why the engine warning light is on.
It will pinpoint the problem.
Common one s are knock sensors and fuel cut.

Likely to be knock value being quite high or the injectors are being stretched to its limits.

I'm planning on a remap to get some more pressure on the turbo, I'll find out then, I take it I dont have access to error codes unless i take it to a tuner\garage,

"With the ECU set to 'non boost control' status, the engine started and ran sweetly, using the maps already programmed into the Power FC. We enabled the flashing of the Check Engine light when detonation was detected and went for a drive. It soon became obvious that the ignition timing was too far advanced for Australian Premium Unleaded fuel; the Check Engine light flashed repeatedly when high rpm and loads were used. Rather than progress further without an indication of the actual air/fuel ratio, we put further driving on hold until an accurate Autronic air/fuel ratio meter and dedicated oxygen sensor could be borrowed. Adelaide company Awesome Automotive kindly provided us with a meter, and then further tuning continued."

No you do it yourself. All you do is bridge `Te1 and Te` with a bent paper clip in the engine diagnosis port.
Theres a full guide to this somewhere.

This trick does work with the standed ecu in place. However I don't think that it's possible with the Power FC!?

The FC I helped map, the check engine light flashing def. meant either hitting 100% injector duty or exessive knock. One was a slow flash, one was a rapid flash, can;t remember which way round it was sorry If you google around you should be able to find some manuals...

I don't *think* the FC has error codes as such, but I could be wrong.
