i had this problem just a couple of weeks ago, when i removed the airfilter piping i noticed that one of the clips were missing that holds the gear cable to the gearbox, takes two mins to check, if you rule that out there are a few other things to check :thumleft:

Sorry no diagram but when it happened to mine it was the selector cables popped off at the box end... new bushes sorted it for about £15 or so (sbits I think!).

It turned out to be the linkage, so Ive got that sorted. But in getting home Ive managed to trash the clutch

Is there anyway to adjust the clutch up??

what do you mean by "trashing" the clutch , is it engaging?, is it slipping?

I had to drive it about a mile in 5th by the time i got it out side the house there was some serious smoke coming from the engine bay with the smell of clutch plate.
The aa diagnosed the linkage this morning and got me going but by the time i got to work 20miles approx I cant engage gear again. But this time im sure its the clutch, as when im in gear it slips quite badly.
