alloy wheel offset

Post by kev_mr2 »

Im looking at getting some new alloys for my mr2 project.

either Rota GT3's or Track R's in white with the polished lip in 16x7 but i cant get either of them with the staggered offset.

The chances are, ill be running spacers all round anyway but will it be ok to stick the bigger spacers on the rear to compensate for the offset?

cheers

Should be OK mate I believe. I run 15x7s all round with a 35 offset and 15mm hubcentric spacers on the rear. Apparently it's more likely to wear wheel bearings quicker but mine have been on 3 yrs with no probs. You really want 12mm spacers to replicate the standard stagger... just ensure they're hubcentric and the alloys have the correct spiggot rings to be snug on the hub.

15 and 16 inch tyres are gonna be more expensive than more popular 17" probably based on higher production numbers check before you buy your wheels.
