Got a new PC. Any good demos to try out?

Its not quite up there with your spec mikee but it should beat my last one!

* Intel® Core 2 Quad Q8200
* (2.33GHz, 4MB Cache)
* Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium
* 4GB DDR2 memory
* 1TB SATA hard drive
* 1GB nVidia GeForce GT120 graphics
* Blu-Ray player and DVD Rewriter
* 6x USB and 1x FireWire port
* 10/100/1000 Gigabit network LAN port

and its been years since ive played a PC game so wanted to try some out.

Ive downloaded the Arma demo but theres something up with it, the graphics look like crap cell shading.

Updating my drivers now to see if that helps.

hate to say it sam but your gfx card is gonna let you down mate, Not gonna get any games running really well and looking great tbh. You'd be better sticking to your xbox tbh cos if you change the card then you have to uprage the psu and so on and so forth.

Tbh i've not played any games on my pc since about a month after i got it :( It's totally wasted on me and i've been thinking about swapping it for a badass laptop.

Why would he need to change the PSU? After testing many even the budget range run most gfx these days its just a load of electric safety money making cack.

Don't forget that even a 512mb gfx can easily outperform a 1gb. It's all about being able to process the graphics, you can have all the memory in the world but if it stores faster than it proceses then your fps will be poo.

Just make sure you turn all gfx options to medium and you'll be fine with that card

Yea i realised the gfx card wasnt the best.

I hadnt planned to upgrade but my old one died so i had to go grab a new one yesterday.

had to work to get on with and wanted a memory upgrade so it wasnt all bad.

Ive played Crysis on mostly medium settings and it was ok.

Downloading Americas Army but there doesnt seem to be much else out.

well most "decent" gfx cards need two power rails on a psu and i'm guessing that sam's psu won't have that as it's prob gonna be a budget unit.

And i'm afraid i totally disagree about the money making crap bit, I run a radeon 4870x2 card and i was getting random shutdowns etc and it turned out my psu wasn't upto the job (corsair 620w) so i upgraded it and i've not had an issue since (touch wood)
