Just wondered, what are your guys thoughts on them? and has anyone ever fitted one to an MR2, or known of one being fitted to an MR2?

Was talking to a few mates the other day about this, how he was saying his going to purchase one for his s14a.
Just wondered, what are your guys thoughts on them? and has anyone ever fitted one to an MR2, or known of one being fitted to an MR2?

Its a rev limiter that basically scrambles the ignition signal - meaning you get rally style popping and banging on the limiter. It can also potentially damage your turbo and has also been held responsible for a few engine deaths (most due to chumps using it to impress their mates by sitting there on the limiter with it going mental).

its basically jsut for show purposes yes? what benefit can it give your car from making pop and bang on the limiter

i think these things sound good. would go down a storm at the local mcdonalds.

launch control sounds good though!!
at£160 new, surely it would be something worth purchasing for the strip? wouldnt harm your engine too much because your only using it when on the strip, and dont use it on normal driving, would help bring the time down and eliminate human error on the take off?

If used as a rev limiter (ignition cut rather than the stock fuel cut) then it makes sense. If used to impress your mates so you can sit there popping and banging like a tool then its pointless and inline with electronic blow off valves.
You can get the same thing from Demon Tweeks OMEX, Lumeuition(sp?) also make ignition cut rev limiters which will do the same thing when you hit them.
Seriously though who needs launch control? I have launch control - its called my right foot!
