well my run continues
Failed on
illegal plates front and rear: easy
Number plate light bulb: easy
Handbrake on maximum adjust: Is this a fail?? anyway they mentioned it
Wiper blades: easy
Washers: Presumable blocked but well dunno
Emmissions: failed now i had my precats out so don't know they're suggesting replacing the cat, but the cost quoted is £600 alone + fitting and VAT.
Any ideas, going back later on what should i ask about the emmissions is it likely to of failed cause of the pre cats? whats the failure level
Derby/Loughborough way willing to travel

Removing the precats will not make the car fail the emissions test.
They are only tyhere for the Japanese test and are used on engine start up.
Was the car up to temperature when they tested it ?

You mean the CARB regs in California
Re: MOT EPIC FAIL HELP NEEDED URGENTLY PLEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEE
the details.
by the way the washer jets work water pouring out all four holes not jetting but hitting the window 1/4 up should this be a fail? i cant see what to fix if waters coming out all four oulets (2 each side) and hitting the screen?

Yeah thats the one, wierdo's
Re: MOT EPIC FAIL HELP NEEDED URGENTLY PLEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEE
Considering it is the lambda that is too high, I'd fit an oxygen sensor first.
Re: MOT EPIC FAIL HELP NEEDED URGENTLY PLEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEE
I've got a spare pair of washer jets if you need them...
Re: MOT EPIC FAIL HELP NEEDED URGENTLY PLEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEE
Appreciate your help guys, sorted the rest of the niggles last night.
Handbrake was a nut + locking nut found a how to on the ROC
Washers, repositioned with a pin and they seem to be fine now.
Plates/bulbs/wipers all sourced from motor factors.
Cleaned the MAF again with carb cleaner and treated it to 97 ron fuel so i'll see if that makes any difference
I think your right about the lambda being suspect
MrT's price for a new lambda senser were £160+VAT
Second hand (breakers) £40 cash each
Anyone any other idea's?

cheers mate for £40 more this is probably worth it.
i got two O2/lambda sensors on my version of the roadster the MR-S, whats the odds of both being faulty? reckon i should just get one replace each in turn? to fault find?
Surely if both were failing i would experience greater running problems?

Re: MOT EPIC FAIL HELP NEEDED URGENTLY PLEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEE
You can test them with a multimeter. There's a howto in the MK2 BGB, Lambda sensors being a standard thing I would assume it'd be the same for the MK3.

The upstream (top) sensor controls fuel mixture, the lower makes sure it's ok. Replace the upper one first.

Cheers for your input guys didn;t realise on the left it said i had a rev1 turbo, just realised that feeds from the garage and changed it.
Got two cats on the roadster in the manifold
Spotted the multimeter check so gonna give that ago hopefully eliminate the issue.
Should be in a better position to update everyone tomorrow.
I'll keep y'all updated.
i have an Toyota MR-S and dont know how to change the bit in the avator lol
