[Mk2] [NA] Engine mods for a DIY newbie

Post by petexa »

Hi guys,

Im working in stages on cleaning up my car, im now at the engine. I fitted a Jap Spec Performance Induction Kit today and all that shineyness has made my engine bay look very boring.

So i am after some cheap and easy mods that will make my engine bay look more desirable. Im not that mechanicly minded and not after too much performance upgrades.

Hope you guys can help

A general tidy and clean will work wonders

Get some silicone spray on the hoses/pipes/wiring/HT leads.
give the exhaust heatshield a scrub with a brillo pad (it'll come up great!)
spray the intake manifold with some high temp silver spray paint
clean around the engine lid
maybe add a strut brace to finish it off
