Psn Vidzone

Post by mikee66 »

Anyone else used this yet?

It's brilliant!

Basically any music video you want FREE!

You can even have playlists etc!

Really impressed with it!

Might be a bit of a struggle to get connected today what with everone trying but it's well worthwhile!

It's good, but doesn't cache the videos

And it's not quite *any* music video, a lot of artists and/or titles are missing.

Has it got Lily Allen and Bat For Lashes on it?

Er.

I mean, has it got Einstürzende Neubauten and Nick Cave and all those other badscarymeannastydark musicians that I like on it?

(My PS3 doesn't have a net connection yet. Bought a Netgear Router that claimed 15x range. it's worse than the one Be provided).

Now all they need to do is pair streaming video and SingStar. I'm sing of waiting for new material; it's all too high or too mainstream.

I did say above it's good, I just mentioned something (caching) that'd make it better.
And I'm sure the choice will get better & bigger with time. I'm just not 100% happy cos not all the Take That videos are on there

Don't forget though, 360 owners will get Sky soon (for a cost  ).

Free and it's pretty damn good ain't it :)

No Guns 'N Roses yet though :(

I hope they implement a random play option for when you select one of your playlists (if it's there i've missed it) and let you use a wireless keyboard when searching cos using the pad is sloooooow!!!

Very nice freebie! I found stuff on there I really didn't think I would find, Backyard Babies, Dangerous Toys!!
I probably won't use it that much in all honesty but may create a few playlists for when I have visitors... assuming I might have visitors one day. 8-[

I think that whoever came up with this idea might just be a genius.

It is just stonking. Half the fun is looking for stuff you like and though obviously there is not every music vid ever made there is a fair amount of stuff.

Spent 5 hours on it on Friday night and about the same amount of time last night. Absolutely great to see music vids of songs I like that i've never seen before.

It really is completely addictive. Also we noticed if we don't choose any further tracks it has some kind of intelligent function where it plays stuff you've previously played and stuff you haven't. It's a bit like pandora in that respect. For the most part it works really, really well.

If the amount of music on there is going to continue to expand it only can get better.

Installed this 2 nights ago and i love it!

To pick up on some of the points before.. would love it to have a cach facility (maybe future version?) and would love it to be compatible with a wireless keyboard.

Also when searching for a video by song title it takes forever to load. I thought it had crashed the first time i tried it.

These are not gripes as its free and bloody brill all round really. :thumleft:

Is all the media on there related to Sony in some way shape or form? Or it just that they are going to continue adding more to the collection available?

I think if it use this too much i might get my BB connection throttled on a regular basis! :eye:

So what is it exactly? A music video player?
Stream (but not download and keep?) videos via the machine?
Sounds a cool idea. I might be entertaining in a couple of weekends, could be handy to have on demand music.

yup.. streaming video's but the response time for the vids is very quick and you can setup different playlists which you can start and leave while 'entertaining' friends..
