[Mk2] [Turbo] mr2 specialist issue?

got a slight problem, am I right to feel slightly aggrieved?

Took my mr2 in for an aftermarket ecu fitting and mapping with rev3
injectors to a specialist (no names mentioned) said it would be approximately
a 3 days to fit ecu and injectors plus a couple to take it for mapping (no problem) so about a week or so! This was 2nd april if remember correctly and i am still waiting for the car back.

I have retaxed the car as it ran out of tax at end of april plus missed out on some ideal driving sunny days and car shows. Im feeling a fair bit let down, the list of excuses I receive are endless and I dont normally complain or make an issue of things but I think 9 weeks and counting for my car back is a bit ridiculous?

all of that should take 1DAY! 2days max dependant on if you had to go the whole rev3 ecu convertion, if just your just talking about swapping injectors and mapping, shouldnt be any longer than a few hours!!!!

Yes that could be... The entire job was fitting ecu, rev3 injectors and upgraded fuel rail then sending for mapping. (oh, while car was sat there i had the boot lid replaced and rev3 spoiler put on also)

Still dont know when it will be back... cant move it either as bits are still
off engine plus rev3 injectors are fitted but have no controller so would
probably overfuel if it ran.

Some people have had good service from 'him', however i was kept waiting for ages for a simple order.. as you say excuse after excuse.

Probably a good knowlegeable fellow- just takes on too much and tries to cover for it by concocting a story.

You need to act.......Same guy in Yorkshire has a bit of a reputation for keeping cars as long as a year also taking large amounts of cash for jobs, then letting down the customer when he has problems with the car/engine.....You only need to do a search on the forum to come up with an extensive list of unhappy customers.

Get in their early and if necessary get your car back.

I dont know why you wont name them, it will warn other MR2 owners incase they are about to book their car in with them

Ok Ive been thinking about this last night again and it still gets me angry
that I seem no nearer to getting my car back. Therefore in the interests of others the specialist is SBITs.

This is not the first time either, the last time I took my car in it was 3 to 4 weeks for a small job.

i am aware that others have had good service and I do not fault any quality of work I have had done there but the time I have lost my car for each occasion borders on the ridiculous. In fact I would say my car has been there more than in my garage.

Just get it collected matey. It costs a few quid to hire a trailer but summer is here and you need your car
