Hi mate,

How far have we got ???!

Just an overview... the engine & box are held in by 4 main engine mounts....since you're removing 3 which comes with the gearbox, you need to find a means to support the engine....

Front engine mount :
Disconnect gear cables, you'll see them retained by a clip in the main holding bracket ( part of the slave cylinder bracket ) Remove the clips on the gear selector and remove the clips retaining the cables in the bracket...

Disassemble the front engine mount to remove the slave cylinder out of position... this way, you wont have to bleed the system as you're not breaking into the hydraulics.. leave it hanging.

To remove the slave cylinder, there are 2x 12mm bolt. Remove them, keep in a safe place. The front engine mount has 2 x 14mm bolts that need removing and keeping in a safe place as well... that should allow you to stick the slave on the floor with all the bracket in pieces....

Rear engine mount.... simply disconnect the 3 bolts that bolt into the subframe, leave everything else in place.

Passenger engine mount :

Disconnect all the steady bar, you'll see a large bracket which the box bolts upto the engine mount, this is where you'll seperate it... 1x 14mm from the top, 2 x 14mm from the bottom. Things start to move when you disconnect these so be sure to have the box supported and the engine supported.

Before you go any further..... electrical wiring disconnections ... Reverse lights switch ( on top of box )... speedo ( rear of box )... and all the starter motor wires ( disconnect battery btw )

You will be able to remove all the bolts that hold the box in place to the engine block, the locating eyes will hold the box in alignment.. the input shaft will hold it from falling on the floor.

Be warned.. this is a 2 person job.. or an engine hoist requirement... do not attempted to unbolt the box and remove it.. the shear mass of it will injure you !!!! Safety first buddy !! :thumleft:
