MR2 V6 - Serious spec

Bit of an unusual one this.

My son went to Brooklands Motorsport College and his final year project was to build a V6 MR2. We kinda assumed he's use it on the road and for track days afterwards, however, the insurance for a 19 year old on the following spec doesn't exist!

The car has little by way of interior as it was for track use but I got a little carried away with me cheque book and spent £13k on bits - a nasty habit of mine but something that keeps Rogue and Fensport smiling!

The car is built, MOT'd and SORN'd and has covered 30 miles for a shakedown which went fine.

Someone could put all these bit in their MR2 and swap there bits back to this one and sell it or keep this one as it is.

The track tyres have never hit the road.

I'm not going to split any of this as he built it and it would break his heart to see it ripped apart.

The first person with £6500 can drive it away - the other £6500 I'll swallow as the cost of his education.

Any takers?

Mike

Agreed, you need to show lots more pics in order to tempt someone away from £6k.

Looks like a great car Mike, has it been fully mapped? Any ideas on power figures?

i'll get some shots today.

Its 201bhp and 210 lb/ft, we were going to turbo it for about 30% more which is why the ecu is on there - just needs the gt36 turbo, bigger injectors and an intercooler plumbed in and a remap.

It about as quick as my Boxster to drive

The reason is obviously the diet its been on - if it weighs something and does nothing its off the car.

Interesting car, but you have labour costs for Rogue? So did your son actually do the conversion for his project or did Rogue do it?

the words are there but no numbers as they didn't - they did assemble the engine, clutch, LSD and transaxle so it was one unit for install.
Lyndon came down to complete the wiring as well as I didn't want any fires!
