Convoy to WRA2 for the South East section (via M1)

Hi all

For those of you that are going to the WRA/ JTS @ Silverstone on the 31st of May and would like to travel there in Style I am hapy to arrange a convoy and it would be good if the South central boys and girls fancy meeting us at South Mimms on the sunday morning to convoy to another meeting point or 2 before getting to Silverstone for early doors (target would be 8.00am ish to miss all the traffic trying to get in, hopefully mainly mr2's ).
I would recommend meetings at convoy point to be short and sweet as we would have alot of time to catch up with each other and other folk at the venue! I think that the journey from South Mimms to J15a is about 1 hour and another 20mins onwards after this to the Silverstone race track. This would mean being at South Mimms Coach Park for 6.30am and leaving 7pm on the dot folks.
I am sure that doeboy can do a meeting point in the Milton Keynes area for those of you that want to meet up that way and join us either on the M1 or at J15a where we would quickly move on to the gates for this outstanding event, i remeber being in a convoy of roughtly 50+ for the last WRA and that was amazing IMO.

This is being orangized mainly through mr2oc where i am one of the south east regional reps, but I welcome and would love IMOC members to join us in this convoy and for any of the events that I arrange

Adam I am normally at work by this time mate as you know I often start work at 5am so it's no biggy for me , if we meet at Mimms for 6.30am and leave at 7.00 we should make Junction 15a by 8.00 with a bit of luck as I do believe there is still a 50 limit for a small streach of the M1 just past Milton Keynes! Then once we meet the other parties at 15a Silverstone is another 30mins roughly on from there IIRC so we should hit the gates for around the 8.40am time line whcih will give us only about 30mins to get sorted out between the gates and the stand and if it is anything like last year we will need that for sure.

Plus also I dont have a turbo anymore so things sim longer and not as powerful but i still dont mind a spirted drive especially as I will be running on my new 16'' Volk Racing alloys which go on this friday touch wood

Can I ask why you're going up the M1? Do you live clockwise from there?

I live in Surrey (M25 Jnc 10) so it's much easier to go up the M40. Mind if I set up a seperate thread for meeting on the M40 for those more Southern people?

Yup, it still is.

As I live outside MK, I'll try to meet you guys at J15a on the M1 in my Mk1.
Last time I headed there by myself and was one of the first... Was a bit weird!

Edit: Just a thought. Are you sure it's half an hour from J15a on M1 to Silverstone? A43 has cameras (please make a note of this - be careful when driving) and usually fills with traffic when something is happening at Silverstone...
