hi guys, just a question regarding head gaskets. was getting the turbo changed and the guy fitting the turbo said that there was white residue at the turbo. he said that it may be head gasket on the way out or else it was running to lean. how much should a head gasket change cost?? if its needed

Ive just been phoning around for quotes myself, best so far is £280 + £40 for a head skim, £? for cam belt, new head bolts, oil, coolant etc, so its gonna be about £400 give or take. Always good to get the cam belt done at the same time as thats a 3 1/2 hour labour job on its own, but a lot less when the head is already off.
I paid£450 to get it done on my girlfriends clio so im happy with this.
