MR2 Turbo Rev3

Post by uk51 »

*** UPDATED: 9th August ***

Still for sale. £2450 No offers.
Will reduce the price to £2000 if you bring your own alloys and I keep the Rays and the stereo.
I have done some better photos.
I promise to try and be more accommodating with timely replies and arranging to actually be here so you can view!

I think the roof may need looking at as there is a bubble under the paint where the roof meets the windscreen. I have tried to highlight it in one the pictures. It hasn't broke the paint surface but looks like at some point it may have had a replacement windscreen and whoever did it didn't get the seal quite right! I am happy to pay for it to be done if someone has a recommendation in the midlands?

The other bit that needs attention is the front nearside wheel arch, it is not bad but really needs sorting. Again, happy to pay for it but don't know anyone to do it.

Interior is pretty good and just needs a tidy.

Thanks

Still for sale .... Call Mark on 07827 881 321

Reluctant sale!!

MR2 Turbo Rev3
British Racing Green
90k Kilometers
TRD LSD
Volk Rays CVPro 16"
Bridgestones allround
Half Leather Recaros
Push button start
Blitz Data mapping
Greddy Turbo Timer
Greddy ProfecB Boost
Decat
Big Powerflow Exhaust
Strut brace front and rear
Gab Gymkhana Coilovers
Braided hoses

Excellent drive: Gearbox, Engine and LSD are perfect.

Selling due to not using it enough. Company car and long hours. Bodywork is excellent with no dings.

Bad points (there is always some) nearside front wheel arch is just starting to blister (nothing major) on the inside of the wheel arch (I have tried to highlight it in picture). Interior needs tidying due to the extra gauges not fitting in standard console. Two of the wheels have curb marks. MOT til July 2010 and TAX til December.

I have owned this car since December 2007 and it has never been anything other than a pleasure to drive. I really do not want to sell it but it is not being used and I just can't justify keeping it on the road.

This is my 7th MR2 and the best yet. It's great to drive. The engine is excellent, doesn't use any oil, the gearbox is smooth and the TRD LSD makes a world of difference. High & Tight poly kit all round within last 500 miles.

I hate the thought of selling it but it has to go ... I am open to offers!!!

Post by uk51 »

I have had a few PM's about how much I am looking for. Well there are still one or two jobs to do, so how does £2800 sound?

Thanks for that, but do you think the price is too low? I know it's difficult to sell a car at the moment but I thought someone would have been interested ... I will try and get some better pictures over the weekend as these don't do the car justice.

Been asked some questions and thought I would share the answers ...

Whats the service history like?
Was the TRD LSD fitted after as i thought all rev 3+ cars had a LSD.
Is it a tintop and is it a GT or a GTS?
What extras does it have, i.e folding mirrors, climate control etc?
Also can you give me a contact number.

Hi ... Its an MR2 Turbo Rev3 1995 N reg. Registered in the UK in May 2007. As usual there is no Japanese history.

It's a tintop GTS (I am assuming its the GTS based on no steering fogs and no electric mirrors). The LSD is not standard. I changed the oil when I first got the car, for no reason other than peace of mind, and put in recommended Redline 75-90 and then Silktran SYN 75-90 with friction modifiers and they were both too sticky causing the LSD clutch plates to bind on slow cornering. Was told to try 85-140 in case I had an uprated TRD LSD which turned out to be correct. The only other LSD using this viscosity that I could find was a Quaife 2 way LSD.

The Half leather Recaro seats are an upgrade that I added as I don't like the standard cloth seats. They are in pretty good condition with no rips.
There is a Clarion USB stereo fitted but I never got round to sorting the speakers out (works but bit tinny)

There are things to do on the car. The front nearside wheel arch needs attention. The wheels are good but could do with a refurb to make mint. The Aerial doesn't work. The drivers window squeaks at one point when going down. The console needs sorting where the stereo and gauges sit.

I'd put another years MOT on it myself and then I'm sure it'd fly out the door.
