SKY Insurance

Post by Dale_V »

after all their praises from members on here and the good quote they gave me, i decided to take a policy out with SKY

NEVER AGAIN!

I fisrt recieved my documents detailing :

an incorrect date of birth
incorrect NCB
incorrect policy type
incorrect convictions

so after a phone call, i got this sorted out, and my new documents came, a little better but not 100%

so i sent all of the required documents i could, and then recieved a letter today asking for proof of security, its a standard toyota alarm so how can i give proof?

well ive just phoned them, and they want proof of my cat 1 clifford, that doesnt exist! this is what the sales guy has put on my policy! so after explaining i dont have a cat 1, i now need to goto a garage and get proof I have a toyota alarm fitted!

great, more time wasted!

not impressed with this company one bit!

Dale, this sounds appalling, I dont mind admitting this. You notified me of some of these issues previously and I thought they had been dealt with. I was not aware of the problem with the alarm.

We are going to look into this, all of our calls are recorded so we will need to listen to the call to find out exactly what was said.

Please leave this with me.

thankyou for looking into it ollie, I have NEVER had one minor issue with any other insurance company, so this is seeming to be a bit of a ballache for me

I personally would love to hear the recording, because i definatly stated i had a toyota alarm, but would in the future get a cat1, not that i had a cat1!

peter gidden has now inspected my car, and is happy that I have a standard Toyota alarm which is a thatcham 2 alarm, he is giving me proof of this, and then i will send it to sky.

Dale,

apologies for the delay in getting back to you. One of my colleagues has listened to the call, you stated that you did indeed have a standard Toyota fitment alarm but when asked if you were planning on fitting any Thatcham approved devices you stated you were going to fit a Clifford Concept 500 'for the insurance'. This is why you have been chased for the proof of fitment. I've had a word with the schemes manager and the Toyota fitted alarm is perfectly satisfactory, we do need any proof that this has been fitted.

Apologies for the other errors, these appear to have been cleared up now.

Regards

Ollie

imo, they're a joke

If all this aggro had happened to one of my customers, i usually give them a gesture of goodwill compensation to apologise, i bet i will get nothing from SKY!

Dale, according to our system a certificate was sent out on the 2nd June. I have arranged for a new certificate to be sent 1st class post today.

Please PM me if this doesn't reach you.

well thats strange seeing as though i didnt send the other requested documents (alarm certificate as noted on the top of this topic) until the 7th june, so a full certificate couldnt have been sent out... and I actually called SKY up on the 17th June at 12.33pm to see if i could now have my documents, which i was told would be posted and never recieved

there is something wrong with your systems.............

We always send the certificate when we receive the most important docs back, ie proposal form and direct debit form. According to the computer system this was received 2nd June, your certificate was printed and sent them same day. You phoned us on the 5th regarding the proof of security. We would not hold the certificate back for the proof of security.

Any further queries, please PM me
.

Thanks

Ollie

Paulsmr2 - you have a PM. I will look into this straight away for you.. if it is a simple refund I will arrange for it be back on your card before the weekend.

This is the first I have heard of this as far as I know.. this should not take so long to drag out but allow me to find out what is happening.

Please use me as your point of contact to Sky Insurance, that goes for any Sky customer
.

Dale, I will consult with my manager before I reply to your post.. I need to pick my words carefully.
