GTR-II side skirts for SW20

Post by tilma800 »

I really like the look of the GTR-II skirts from MRD. The only problems I have is that I read they don't ship to the Netherlands and they are pricy.
From a board member in Holland I heard that someone made a replica of this skirt? Where can I find those skirts?

i'd like to know the answer to that question as well as imo they are the best looking skirts on the market, although agreed that they are very overpriced

I have these fitted to my car (check out my profile or garage) and at £600 they are not cheap, and then there is the painting which cost me £450 for side skirts, rear splitters and a rev5 spoiler.

These skirts are NOT the best fitting side skirts. At that price I would expect them to be a perfect bolt on fit. The problem is in the area inside the door where they come over the sill, also just below the door locks and where they come from the front of the sill up to the rear of the front wheel arch.

I had these professionally fitted and the guy phoned me up to go and look at the fit prior to fixing in place due to the gaps in this area. I contacted MRD and asked if these could have been a poor set and would they replace them to which they replied that "they all come from the same mould", but my argument was that when they had been "dressed up" when taken from the mould it appeared that too much material had been removed. MRD told me to take the car and kit to them and they would fit it at normal cost and would guarantee a good fit. Im in Newcastle and they are around Liverpool almost 200 hundred miles away. I subsequently contacted others Patrick at Rougue Systems who had this kit on his black car and another guy with a gold coloured car, one of these I believe had their kit fitted by MRD and they both had similar gaps.

The kit DOES look good with the doors shut but £600 worth...no way. If someone is knocking this kit out at a cheaper price I would seriously consider them.

HTH.
