a car is worth what people will pay for it
if the owner thinks his car is a special example, then £2.7k isn't too unreasonable.
If he'd priced it too low, people would just think it was a shed.
I reckon offers will get to around £1k - £1.5k

I am interested in how you can fit a later electronic drive to a cable driven speedo - as far as I know its not that simple or if it is could some please tell me as my rev 1 speedo drive has packed up

Pretty sure it is that simple. You fit the (rev2+) speed sensor on to the top of the gearbox and run a cable to the new (rev2+) speedo in your instrument cluster. The ECU is fed electronically from the instrument cluster in all MR2s AFAIK so all you are doing is effectively moving the stage that converts things physically turning round to an electric pulse, from the instrument cluster to on top of the gearbox.
That does seem like a high price for a Rev1.
