350z wheels

Post by Matt_Cooper »

Just got Two Questions regarding 350z 18" wheels...

1) Are they a staggered fitment?

2) Will they fit on directly without the need for spacers etc... (partly linked to question 1)

They are these ones...

My response answers neither of your questions, but have you noticed that the wheel in the photo has a spoke too many?

If you check the first link, it does look like they are staggered and the offset doesnt look to bad either.

Much prefer the optional rays wheels for the 350z tho

That link says they are the same width front and rear, also exact same weight...

Front
Size: 18x8.0
Offset: +30mm
Weight: 26.56lbs
Tire: 225/45-18

Rear
Size: 18x8.0
Offset: +30mm
Weight: 26.56lbs
Tire: 245/45-18; 265/35-18 will also fit

Think the front will stick out a little.. but the rears should fit just snug under the arch....

FRONTS:
My fronts are 8" 30 offset ( 17's ) .. and do fit a little on the wide side.. but not noticable..I have 215/40's sitting on a little stretched which fills the arches nicely.... You may have to come down on the tyre size / profile if lowered....

REAR :
I run a 9 inch ( 17 inch ) with a 35 offset.... 255 tyre is making contact with the arch now and then... so an 8" 30 offset should fit just nicely...

In summary.. They'll fit.. but subject to a different width / profile tyre on the front.

This link should help you with 350z wheel specs

http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/350Z_OEM ... ifications

I saw some of the rays staggerd 350z wheels go for about £400 without tyres on ebay a few weeks ago!

I think these might be 350z wheels on this 2 on mr2oc

Ive been a bit put off this idea now after reading that 18" wheels make the handling crap!

It kind of defeates the object of having an MR2 if you screw up the handling characteristics...

I had some 18's on my 2 until about a month ago and never had an issue with the handling but I did find the ride on 35 profile tyre's a little harsh.

All depends on what sort of driving your doing, I only use my car on the road but if your doing track days etc some light weight 16's would be good.
