[Mk2] [NA] Rogue Rev 6 rear lights

Post by Ken58 »

I missed out on some of these on Ebay a while back, I didn't bid because I couldn't make my mind up if I prefered these or the rev 3 lights.

Anyway, I decided I did like these and had a look on the Rogue website, new ones a lot more than the set on Ebay went for, so anyway, I thought I'll keep a look out and save up.

The thing I don't like about these is the single fog lamp idea, I like things symetrical, same on both sides, so I emailed Rogue to see if they could sort me out.....Don't make them any more!!...So

Does anyone else make something similar, ar has anyone got some of these for not too much cash please??

Cheers to all

These always sell for a premium, and I have never understood why. They are in the same league as chromed lexus-style lights IMO :(

To be honest I'm inclined to agree, that's one of the reasons I was undecided, I think the ones on Ebay IIRC were £50 "buy it now" they were almost £300 new, what puts me off the rev 3's is the orange indicators on the edge, I want clear front and rear. I will probably end up with the rev 3 lights.

This was my problem, the orange does date the car a little, have you thought of tinting them red with the foilatec spray from Halfords etc, it actually works quite well if done properly, and it can be removed easily as well..
Heres a few pics of my old MR2 with orange indicators sprayed to red, and also with red US corner triangles.

Rich Lee over on xxxx forum did have some clear rear indicators on his old MR2, first of a batch last year, but they were very expensive and didnt look quite right, perhaps I needed to get used to the look...

I quite like the idea with the red tint and triangles, what sort of price are they from the USA?

Also, what are those side skirts on your car there? I am going to be after some when funds allow.

I think the triangles were 15 quid each, you can order them via your local dealer, do a search for 'red US' in the search function on here, i'm sure the part number has been asked for many times before. Also, the triangles come with a bulb holder, so you could light up your triangles with your sidelights if you wanted. To get a good finish you will need to mask off the outer edge of the lense, and take the light cluster off the car and spray them on a flat surface. Four light coats should be sufficient, spray it anymore and you may get an red indicator as opposed to orange if you see what I mean.
The skirts are GReddy Gracers, I think Rogue were doing a copy of them.

if you do a search you will find that some one even posted up the part numbers for the red triangles not so long ago.

It looks like you have the red triangles with the bulbs conected as well, that's a nice set up actually....you've got me thinking now.

Was it someone on these forums that did these clear lenses? How long agao was it?

Thanks, I've checked out the original post on these, too expensive. I see what the guy was saying about the work/expense involved, but £100 for two pieces of plastic is too much, even with the bulb holders and wiring, especially as you've got the work of fitting them etc.

It looks more and more like I'll go with the rev 3 ones. ( eventually).

Rev 3 lights are SO 'last year'... Everybody wanted them once.

Get yourself a polishing cloth, tint, oven, soldering iron & an hour or two...

And get the whole light assembly to light red from the amber indicators inwards... 8)

Rev2 is the way forwards..

It's funny you should say that KM, I was only thinking yesterday how many rev 3 lights have been coming on the market recently.

Thanks by the way BLZ for the link. had to put things in this area on hold until I get my sump replaced.
