Wheel Threads

Post by 01smiffy »

Sorry Another wheel question!

Im am looking at buying 18" set of wheels! I have tried to fit them and will need to to put a 5mm spacer on, which isnt leaving me much thread!

How hard is it to put in longer threads?

really simple bud,

Jack the car up and place on axle stand

Remove the wheel

Undo the 2 17mm bolts that hold the calpier to the hub

You will then see there is a void area behind the hub, line up the stud you want to remove to this area, hit the stud pretty hard with a hammer until you feel it to slowly nudge back towards the car, Make sure again its lined up and hit until it is removed.

To replace, all i did was place the new stud in, get an old wheel nut and wind it in until the stud sits flat to the back of the hub :thumleft:

Be carefule and make sure the stud does go in square or you will have to remove it and start again.

Key is take your time, and watch your fingers.

I had all 4 hubs studs extended on mine and only took me a couple of hours, you will get a feel for it once you have dont the first few then you will fly through the rest matey :thumleft:

Hope this helps and good luck
