Post by platmatt8 »

Just wondering how loud an NA exhuast would be when fitted to a tubby?

Anybody had experences with this?

Im asking because i love the look of blueflames Na exhaust and not there tubby exhaust.

people change n/a to tubby so i cant see why a decent welder could adapt it to fit to be honest, only thing wouldnt pipe diameter be bigger for the turbo than an n/a im sure someone will correct me :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

An N/A exhaust on a turbo should be extremely quiet. As N/A's don't have the noise deadening of a turbo there is much more baffling in them. It's when a turbo exhaust goes on an n/a that the opposite happens, mentally loud!

You can probably do it, but it might be a little restrictive due to that baffling.

I had a very quiet system on mine which used to be a turbo, and it's is hellishly loud now I have the V6. Needs another silencer in there to be honest if I want to keep the backbox.

if the system is the same; i haven't looked but could you get a exhaust shop to cut off the two pipes and weld on angled ones with smaller tips onto that?

Assuming its only the tailpipe design your not a fan?

the 2 designs are completly different, na has the same style box as stock and turbo has 2 seperate silencers.
