I would like to invite all members of this club to the first annual Dorset Japanese Car Show (DJCS).

The show is to take place on Sunday 2nd August 2009 at the Canford Park Arena near Poole in Dorset.

With over 100 car clubs invited it's going to be a car packed day with the finest Japanese cars from the last 40 years on display.

If 10 or more of you come along you will be given your own club stand area or alternatively if there are fewer than 10 you can still exhibit your cars on the 'Mixed Club' stand which will be within the show ground!

There will be loads to do and see from fairground rides to climbing walls to a large range of traders offering special bargains!

For more information and club stand/ticket bookings please take a look at the DJCS Website. The website will be updated on a very regular basis so please do check in regularly to see how things are going!

If any members from the club would like to take control of organising a club stand then providing the club admin is happy for you to do so then please do go ahead via the 'Clubs' page on the DJCS Website.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Regards,
Rob Edwards.

NEW - Due to popular demand! If your club has fewer than 10 exhibitors then you will still be able to exhibit your cars at the show. In a slight change to previous plans there will now be a "Japanese Parking" area within the showground for everyone and anyone to exhibit their cars.

The 'Japanese Parking' area will be set within the showground and is open for anyone to exhibit their cars or motorbikes.

People purchasing tickets on the day may exhibit within the 'Japanese Parking' area but cannot reserve space within the area and space will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Advance ticket sales have also been extended until the 19th July 2009.

Also, if your club has booked a stand already and you want to be on it you can purchase tickets from the website below and as long as you state this club name where requested you will be added to the club stand.

Please visit the website and check out whats going on!! http://www.dorsetjapanesecarshow.co.uk

Just one week left for advance ticket sales and club bookings! http://www.dorsetjapanesecarshow.co.uk/clubs.html

If you buy in advance and state the club name to which you belong providing there are 10 or more you will automatically be grouped together on your own stand!

You can just turn up on the day and buy tickets on the gate and still exhibit your car if you wish in the spacious 'Japanese Parking' area. There will be ample room so you won't have to worry about doors getting knocked or anything like that!

It's looking to be an awesome day with more clubs and people buying tickets by the hour!!

What more could you want from a show!!! 100's of superb Japanese cars & bikes on display, 6 live bands playing, Funfair with rides and amusements for all ages, climbing wall, bouncy castles, face painting for the kiddies (and the less mature adults!!), Rolling road supplied by RE:Worx for dyno runs, Fire Brigade rescue demonstrations, Show & Shine Comp, Traders, Great food & drink, Licensed bar... something for everyone be they 2 years old or 80 years old!!

This will be a cracking day out and I look forward to seeing you there.

STOP PRESS: While it may not be to everyone’s taste there is no denying a truly unique eye catching vehicle is going to be raffled at the event. For the small price of just £20.00 per ticket you could be driving away at the end of the day in the one off 'HELLBOUND' !!!

so in other words because of the rather er....special.... paint job he cant sell the car and wont make anywhere near his money back on what he has forked out by flogging 600 tickets at £20 a go he gets £12k. clever really

But what would you do if you won it other than stop at B&Q on the way home and buy a roller and some matt black paint.

yep the Mk1 guys are all meeting here at Pizzahut carpark

post code: BH9 3JS for your shat nav at 8AM

that gives us plenty of time to zip down to the site A few people are staying in poole the night before so i think we have 6 from the Mk1 club.

If everyone from IMOC wants to meet us there to keep everyone together then that would be ideal.

I dont think anyone "active" in this thread has anything to do with premium membership mate, i think payment is by paypal only, not 100% on that. Might be worth firing a PM to Limemk1 ( :thumleft:

Are IMOC having a club stand or just parking anywhere we feel like?

The show doesn't open 'properly' until 10am so as long as we are there by 9.30 latest this should be fine, right?

WELL WHAT A SHOW!

Im still at about 3 miles up at the moment..

I gave Jinxy a phone at about 7pm on Friday saying The Show had a show and shine section and if he brought the car I would attack it and get him a trophy.

I arrived at the pizzahut meeting point this morning to be greeted by a rather grubby looking jinxy car lots of rain and road flim.

We got to the show ground and we were one of the first to arrive right on the front row of the Japanese Parking area.

Jinxy parked in the Show & Shine section and the hard work began. Jinxy worked the interior whilst I worked the exterior.

I set about on the wheels with my pressure washer and rinsed off the body work and cleaned the wheels. Then quick detailed the paintwork to get rid of any water marks.

I then used a wonderful product called PoorBoys BlackHole which is a Show glaze a pure polish with no abrasives that just brings out a sparkle and really enhances the metal flake. Followed by 2 coats of Dodo Juice Purple Haze a colour charged wax that is the same colour as Jinxys car. I topped it off with a coat of HDWax.

3hours and a tired Tiny Later.........Steve Popped over and said I think I will enter. So I started all again and helped Steve sort his out doing his wheels and engine and bodywork etc.

So one VERY tired Tiny later 2 cars 3 cans of relentless and 1 cheeseburger we were ready for the Judges.

Now they had a Dyno Dynamics roller and its was only £20 a go so Nikaiyo and i disappeared out to "Gently Warm" the car and to show off my Group "A" spec Janspeed and Nik was out of cigarettes. Get back and watch a few cars go first and then its my turn its strapped in and the car has a 1a engine & ECU and i have had the Dastek Unichip removed which went to Max. i would be happy with stock. I have had the injectors cleaned a set of KV85s an Apexi panel and of course the Janspeed.

With the sound of God gently floating an air biscuit My car roared up to the redline 3 times and 122.6hp!
Im happy its stock and had no smoke or rattles or oil it ran sweet.

So car successfully Rolling roaded we park up Just as the Show and Shine prize giving was taking place.

They had split the categories down into:
Pre 1990
1990-1996
1996-2006
2006-present

They also had Car Of The Show

Prizes were Autoglym for all with 3rd, 2nd, 1st with car of the show getting a full set of carbonetic Disks/Pads and a Carbonetic Clutch and the Carnoiseur AutoGlym Set.

In the pre 1990 with Jinxy and Steve was a Starlet which came 3rd cue much rejoicing in the Mk1 camp as it was now down to Jinxy and Steve Jinxy came second with Steve getting a Well deserved 1st. So there was me Higher than a kite as the 2cars I had prepped were 1st and 2nd.

Then came car of the show now there was some SERIOUSLY beautiful metal in the show and shine. Flawless Skylines, scoobies, A Grey R34 which was stunning an ice white Evo and a R32 V spec in a purple metal flake.

They announced the category and said this may come as a shock but bearing in mind the 2nd place in the 90-96 was a Micra (completely standard and in AMAZING condition It put jinxys engine bay to shame it was that good! I would have happily eaten food off it) We thought the micra or one other random jap car that we had never seen before had won it.

Then they said the Red Mr2 and I was in shock We were all still celebrating from the Mk1s clearing up the Pre 90 category admiring the Autoglym and the frankly stunning trophys. Steve Had won about £3-3.5k of Carbonetic bits and won Car Of The Show. I was in orbit by this point and was still coming down on the way home. 3 trophys 2 cars 1 Hyper and Beyond Happy Tiny.
