Turbo Exhaust on N/A
What effect would you expect to see by fitting a Turbo Exhaust on an N/A? I aquired a secondhand backbox to replace my one (due to the flange completely corroding away), and i suspect its from the Turbo engine as the outlets are slightly larger and the flange is 50mm or so further to the right of th...

Re: Running a MR2 in the winter
I dont think running an MR2 is different to running any other car in the winter, just take it easier! It might be rear wheel drive, but i would hazard a guess that its better than most front engined rear wheel drive cars in the snow as the weight of the engine is over the drive wheels. As for the ho...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Strange problem after tyre change
Hi Jambo, thanks for the reply. I checked the tyre pressures afterwards, and set them as per the hand book. I thought about the difference in thread depth, but surely the difference would be minimal and taken up by the diff working a little harder? Maybe i should just put it down as 'one of those th...

[Mk2] [NA] Strange problem after tyre change
Yesterday I had the *rear* drivers side tyre changed and now the steering wheel is angled to the right when driving straight. Apart from that the steering seems fine, with no apparent tracking issues. I had the exactly the same problem when i first got the car after having both rear tyres changed, t...

[Mk2] [NA] Drive Train "droning" Noise
Hi, Recently my MR2 has been making an excessive droning noise from the engine compartment. It is related to road speed and not dependant on rpm. my first thoughts was wheel bearing but there is no noticable play on the rear wheels when the car is jacked up, so im worried that its the diff or gearbo...

Re: Wiring out the active speaker system
Thanks for your reply I spent part of yesterday locating the stock amps, and your right what i suggested was not as easy as i'd hoped. For the time being im gonna use a loom adaptor but it seems a shame to be running my head unit through the stock amp and speakers, so in a couple of weeks when i've ...

Wiring out the active speaker system
This has probably been covered before but i did some searches and couldnt find anything. I've just got a new head unit, and i'd like to do away with the active speaker system - from reading certain threads here it seems that running new wires is the best option, but i cant really face pulling the in...

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge
Am i right in thinking all you do is un-screw the oil filter, fit the plate, fit new oil filter. Also both temp and pressure can plug onto the plate? Yup thats about it. Im gonna take Slarty's advice and mount it where the oe sender is, and I like the idea of fitting it in one of the stereo din slo...

Oil Pressure Gauge
I'd like to fit an oil pressure gauge to my rev3 3sge car - wheres the best place to fit the sender? I found this sandwich plate on ebay but is there a suitable take off on the block (and is it easy to get too :D )? Also If anybody could suggest a supplier/manufacture of gauge and where people have ...

My MR2 does it, and so did a Corolla I used to have, so i assumed it was an undocumented feature of Toyotas.

No, I'm bridging Tc and E1 to test the ABS ECU

Its the ABS ECU that i think has failed.

Re: ABS Trouble
Im pretty sure the connection is ok, as i can get the Power Steering light to flash.

Yeah, thats what I thought, Japanese cars are fairly bulletproof in the electronics department.

Its unlikely that the ecu went just like that.

Re: ABS Trouble
Hi Paul,

With the terminals connected, the light remains on with no flashes which according to

this

is an ECU fault.

I'm just hoping the error codes have changed with the later ABS system, or it's one of the relays supplying power to the ECU.

ABS Trouble
Whilst driving home from work last week my ABS light came on, and the diagnostics point towards a Faulty ECU. Does anybody have a wiring diagram, or inspection checklist for the ABS system found in a '95 UK Car. Unfortunately the ones on the MR2-tech.com website do not seem to match my system. I wou...

Slippin' Clutch
It looks like the clutch on my N/A Mk2 is on the way out.

I've replaced the clutches on other cars myself, but what sort of job would it be on the MR2?
Any problems etc?

And can you recommend a supplier of the Clutch kit, i would guest Toyota will be expensive.

Thanks

Tony
