[Mk2] [Turbo] Faulty map sensor?
After a bit of advice really. Just put my rev 3 turbo back on the road after 6 years and everything was reasonable. Not making full boost around 12psi in 3rd(has manual boost controller set to 17 psi). Whipped off the intercooler pipes to re seal, checked a few vacuum hoses etc and when restarted ca...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Radiator and restoration
Hi. So around 10 years ago I bought a white rev 3 turbo which I loved and cherished. It was my daily driver and wanted for nothing. This was the case for around 5 years. Any way life/job etc got in the way and the old girl has sat on a drive for 4 years going green with mold as I didn't have time to...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Moves forward with clutch fully depressed.
Could be as simple as the pedal needs adjusting. Get under clutch pedal with a 12mm or 14mm spanner and adjust the pushrods length. You can check for engagement as per toyota manual. (Put shifter towards reverse with out using clutch, should start to grind. Dip clutch and if noise goes away your goo...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Venting the stock bov to atmosphere (rev 3+) ?
Stock bov
(or any Bov) does not suck in air at any point.
It purely seals and vents.
Ive ran mine like this for years due to different intake.
It sounds okish.
Not great but not that bad.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Would failing thermostat make car run rich??
Yes it will run rich and will run badly.
Generally the MR2s are absolutely painted at half way on the gauge after approx.

- 10 mins so as above, get that stat changed!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stock car boosting to 15psi, should I be concerned?
Mine boosted to 1 bar
(14.7psi) with just a home made intake and full 3" exhaust/decat so I would say your about right.
Its generally considered that 17psi is about top boost level on rev 3 with a decent intercooler

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch bleeding...or maybe the other way around....
The way I did it recently when changing master and slave was to put fluid in master and crack the pipe a little. Bleed a bit until air bubbles stop. Tighten and move on to the union on near the frunk bulkhead. Crack this and bleed. Tighten and finish the normal way. I tried for about an hour doing i...

Scrapyard? find a big estate and strip the loom, guarantee you'll have more colours and wire than you will ever need

Yes engine mount is off, bolts out of bracket and the little bu88er is just floating about! lower? To be honest I didn't try that as every guide and Toyota manual said raise the engine?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Timing belt change
Hi, Decided to do the belt on my rev3 turbo today. Job started well initially, crank pulley nut off, drive belts off. Engine mount out (nice sticker on the bottom, they are TRD ones! Result) Any way I cannot for the life of me get the engine bracket off. It just gets wedged against chassis! I have j...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Help please with identifying springs
It was a long time ago so memory is a bit hazy but my turbo came over with ohlins struts and drop about the same as you describe. Ride was awful, rock hard no matter how you adjusted damping. My springs had carroza?? or something stamped on them. Googled them once and i think they were something hig...

Re: quiet turbo exhaust needed
Ive got a Fujitsubo rm01a. Single exit, full 3" and very light. I was really pleased with it, sounds very deep but not overly loud on normal driving but growls on full chat. Really nice exhaust. Picked it up for £150 in mint condition. Might struggle to find one though as there bit rare. http:/...
