Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Eating wheel bearings... Why???
Hi guys thanks for the replies. Paul, wheel offsets are correct as far as I know, had the wheels too long to remember exact figures. There are no spacers fitted. On a new bearing the car drives fine, goes in a straight line with hands off the wheel, including under braking. mrfil13, yes dust seals a...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Eating wheel bearings... Why???
Well the one that was in the car when i bought it failed, and the last one was already installed in the suspension upright that was taken from another MR2, so I don't think it can be improper installation.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Eating wheel bearings... Why???
Wheels are 17's, and bearings have been a mixture of blueprint parts and genuine Toyota.
I can't see it being 4 faulty bearings from different sources, and even a cheap bearing should at least last 4 weeks surely?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Eating wheel bearings... Why???
My rev 3 turbo has fecked 4 or 5 wheel bearings in the last 3 yrs, on the same wheel (passenger rear). Went through 2 in about 18 months, next 2 in about 8 weeks each, and latest one in 4 weeks! First 3 i just replaced the bearing, 4th one changed bearing and stub axle (bit with wheel studs in) hopi...

Driveshaft support bearing
Does anyone know the part number for the driveshaft support bearing
(mk2 turbo rev 3), or where I can get one apart from Toyota? Mine is screwed, and I don't fancy the old

Good set of pic them Tom :thumleft: Cheers Lee, BAT photographer got some good shots of me, worth the £20 anyway. Graham & Pete's (200sx) pics were ok, but Phil and Lawrence's weren't anything special... They were in FWD cars though - less slidey spinny  action. What camera are you using...

Re: Elvington trackday Sat 4th feb
Thats interesting, is the high level brake light on, but the rears are not? That must be either very good timing with the camera, or lazy brake bulbs?? The rear bulbs must have been frightened... :-k And I was braking because we were heading for an innoccent little plastic cone, so I thought sod it...

Re: Elvington trackday Sat 4th feb
Tom - just tried that, but it only listed 25 random pics from the day. Not sure if that was because I was down as a second driver ... Yeah, think you probably need to log in to the account of whoever booked it... My mate with the Top Gear 200sx booked for 5 of us, so we all had to log in to his acc...

Re: Elvington trackday Sat 4th feb
Pics from Saturday are on Bookatrack's site now. (Taken by that photographer near the pits just waiting for someone to spin into him  ) You need to log in, go to Account, My BAT Pics. They have individual pics of every driver, quality and number of pics varies from 8 dodgy ones of my mate in ...

Re: Elvington trackday Sat 4th feb
Had an awesome day :D Didn't quite know what to expect, but the track layout was great and really enjoyed it. Had quite a few sideways moments, one spin, and one brown-trouser moment where i was heading sideways towards a black mk2 (quigonjay?) that had spun in the fast right hander before the back ...

Re: Elvington - Saturday 4th Feb - Trackday
Lee, you and Adam are in for some scary ass passenger rides  I'll be there with Graham from Top Gear and a few other 200sx guys so there should be plenty of passenger seats to go round. Added to that, it's my first track day, and I have a really poor sense of direction  So if I get to ...

Re: is knocking related to brake problems??
I had a grinding noise coming from the right front wheel under braking. I changed both front discs and pads, still did it. Changed both rear discs and pads just in case, still did it. Also checked all calipers to see if they were sticking and they weren't. The only thing left was front wheel bearing...

Re: Elvington - Saturday 4th Feb - Trackday
I'm booked on this too, (black rev 3 turbo L152 ***) my first track day 8-[ I'll be going with a couple of mates from the 200SXOC, if anyone fancies giving me some advice on the day, or just saying hi that'd be great. Seen some vids of Elvington and it looks pretty safe, not much to hit except cones...

I'll be going with a couple of guys with 200SX's.
Been to the last 3, but seem to spend about 2 hrs stuffing my face and 20 mins looking at cars.

Re: QJDynamics downpipes (the IMOC group buy)
As my other post says, my downpipe definitely arrived last Friday (6/5/05). Hi, James, yes downpipe arrived today, and very nice it looks too. Problems with the long delivery period aside, the quality looks excellent. Welding is perfect, very securely packed, looks like a top quality product. Gonna ...
