There is a plug that comes out of the loom that sits on top of the upper timing cover that goes below the intercooler hard pipe. Or at least that is where it is on mine (rev 3). Not sure if it's different for a rev 2
The car is a rev 4 UK car with a rev 3 turbo engine conversion. The engine was rebuilt when this conversion was done - new pistons, rings, bearings, water/oil pump new genuine gaskets and cosmetic head gasket. I spun the bearings around 13 months after it was rebuilt. This was due to a fault of my o...
I've finally got round to getting the rest of the motor stripped the last couple of nights and it turns out that the ringlands have gone on piston 1 and 2! Is it rare for them to go in 2 seperate cylinders at once? More importantly what would have made them both go? Out of interest is there anyone a...
No, not to bad. I found it to be a ballache trying to find a garage that would work on the mr2 though. Hopefully you won't have that problem down there
I had the clutch, crank oil seals and cam cover gasket all done for about £350 plus the price of the clutch which i supplied and that was around £100 if I recall.
Hi, that would be the one. Was the only 2 I saw there and what a fine example it was. I turned up with a bunch of scoobys and a gtr. Didn't fancy turning up to a car show in my 2 after someone rearranged the rear end of it haha
So I got the ecu back today and opened it up to check for burnt tracks or blown capacitors, there were neither, it looks spotless. If it was to be a chip that had blown would it be visibly obvious what chip it is? Also is there any way to test them?
Haha, three c0cks...thats over by hay-on-wye. There is a road called canal road in hereford city center and the c on the road sign is forever being spray painted over in white, makes me chuckle when I see it. If you pm me your address and stuff I will get it sent up to you. I know of about 12 mk2 mr...
That's the problem, it had been wrapped up in the box it came in for around 4 months without being used and for that reason I agree with what you're saying androo which is why I want to try and get it repaired if possible to recover some costs. Masterbateson - if you're happy to have a look/repair i...
I did pay via PayPal but unfortunately I bought I back in august so I'm not covered on it so that's outta the window. When it returns I will open it up and look at the board to see if there is anything visible and then send it off. At least that way I may get some money back off it. Out of interest ...
Any good recommendations for an ecu specialist tester/repairer? Hopefully it's not scrap as it means I got screwed by a fellow member....not cool. That is exactly what I'm doing, I'm giving him a full refund and paying for the return postage. It's just annoying that it's caused hassle to someone els...
The car starts and runs with his standard ecu but didn't when he plugged in the blitz. I don't know if his car starts or runs when he plugged his standard one back in as haven't heard back from him yet. As for it working for me, it's the wrong one for my car so never fitted it so I don't know. Howev...
As per title really. Sold a Rev 2 blitz access ecu to someone and I got a message today saying that with it fitted the car won't start. It will crank over but not start. Is there anything that could be stopping his car from starting with this fitted or is it down to a duff ecu?
As you said, one to the housing and one on the actuator. Then on the other side of the actuator I just have a bit of hose a couple of inches long with a bolt shoved in the end of it and cable tied on.
So I spent a few hours yesterday evening taking the motor apart and have so far got a far as removing the turbo and manifold. I'm attempting to take the head off with the engine still in the car to swap out the pistons and am just asking for a bit of advice on some dos and don'ts or some good tips i...
I do agree with the whole spreading cash thin on multiple cars but needs must. As for the other mr2 that looks like its going to be a donor car for a turbo conversion. My mr2 turbo had a nasty shunt (20-25mph or so) up the rear and looks like it has twisted the chassis. I will be rebuilding the engi...
Thats such a same Wisey91 ... hope someone has a idea that can help 8-[ :thumleft: I have a 300zx tt I'm putting money into but depending on how much I sink into it determines what I will do with the mr2. So I might end up rebuilding it Or putting a transplant engine into it. May even get another b...
I done it 3 times out of hope it wasn't down to me lol. I'm unsure on what to do now. The engine has had 2 rebuilds in its life already. Don't know how many times one can be rebuilt but I guess it might be time to part with her and break for parts
Well I done the compression test today and is as follows, Cylinder 1) 130 Cylinder 2) 185 Cylinder 3) 185 Cylinder 4) 190 I'm fairly happy with 2, 3 and 4 but 1 not so much. Guess bob is right about the broken ringland that's spitting the oil back into the intake and out the bov? Is there really any...
