Re: front end lift....?

If you feel that your bushes and balljoints are beyond the point of needing replacement, why are you surprised that your handling is iffy? Take it to somewhere with a proper laser alignment system (a Hunter device or similar). There's a list here: http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/tyre-fitting...

Re: front end lift....?

From re-reading the thread I posted above, it looks like the rev 1 settings are possibly better than the rev 3 one's anyway. Thanks for your help anyway. Think I'll just take it to National, get them to do the free check and if there's stuff that needs replacing I'll wait a while and get bits repla...

Will probably do this and see if it sorts the problem. Are the Rev 1 settings even that different?

Re: front end lift....?

It's all greek to me. My knowledge of all this consists of messing around with camber settings on Forza.

Just need a page I can print off, hand to the man and let them sort it.

Re: front end lift....?

You won't have a power steering issue unless it's an import, the problem arises from KPH to MPH conversion. My money would be on alignment. And you think it would be better to do that before I get the bushes, balljoints and the rest sorted? no as you would have to get it aligned again afterwards Ye...

Red MK2 - Barbican, Plymouth

Saw a Red N Reg turning off down Breton Side Rd towards the Barbican.

Also passed a purple-ish? MK2 down Honicknowle Ln a couple of weeks ago coming the otherway from the north.

And a Red MK2 with a for sale sign on the back on the A374, heading towards Marsh Mill.

Re: front end lift....?

Took mine on a long motorway journey for the first time since I bought it yesterday. Up to 60mph it feels really planted on the road, then anything over 70 the front feels extremely light / floaty and almost wobbly. I'm not sure it's just me that needs to get used to this car at motorway speeds, but...

Re: Southwest meet

Hoping this isn't going to be in the last week of July, as the gf's family are coming down to stay for a week! Up in the brecon beacons through most of July though which would make getting to Bristol easier. :) Nope don't worry - its penciled in for the 7th :thumleft: Ah that's great. Means I'd hav...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Seized brake caliper?

Just picked the car back up. Piston was sticking like it did last year. Should last a couple of thousands miles though, then I'll look at replacing it. :)

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Seized brake caliper?

Will phone around a few places tomorrow. Don't have the tools to attempt anything myself so I'll just get it done properly for piece of mind. Sadly there's no MR2 specialist in Plymouth. :( This place doesn't look too bad though. http://www.enginetuner.co.uk/home.htm Cheers for the help guys. :thuml...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Seized brake caliper?

common problem with the brakes, either a piston has seized in the caliper or the slider pins have seized. If you know what you are doing you can fix it yourself and save a fortune. If the brakes are bad then a reconn'd caliper is a better ie longer term fix. Is there any guides about? I've got limi...

[Mk2] [NA] Seized brake caliper?

After a good drive on Dartmoor, my car began to shudder quite badly as I began braking for traffic lights up ahead. Got home and the right drivers side wheel / caliper was scorching hot, compared to the others that were just warm. Just having my face next to it was hotter than my oven on full blast....

Re: Rev 5 N/A - 1st MR2

Nice wheel. Picked up a cheap 2nd hand OMP wheel and tried to fit it today. Couldn't get the torx screws out the side to take the airbag off! Few people tried to loosen it but no one could get them to budge. Bought a security Torx by mistake, but I don't see why it wouldn't work in a standard Torx a...

Re: Battery recommendations

I've got a smaller battery from a Fiesta in mine. Hoping it doesn't implode. Previous owner of mine had a corsa battery fitted and if it stood for a week it was dead. Now have a new one I bought for the Accord, Bosch, bit taller and thinner but fits ok with battery clamp and loads better, was...

Re: Steering wheel boss for a Rev 5?

To be honest I've not actually physically looked in my car to see if it has one either. I looked in the manual but doesn't mention one at all, will have to go downstairs and check later. Just assumed Rev 5's had them!
