Re: Giving the 3SGE another 2000rpm...

perhaps brave perhaps stupid lol but i have an overwhelming urge to play with carbs :thumleft: tbh if the cost of getting the ignition sorted properly i.e. megajolt and i'm aware how much idf's and drla's cost i may well be tempted to switch back to megasquirt with itb's (have some 40mm itb's with t...

Re: Giving the 3SGE another 2000rpm...

yeh i did think of just disconnecting the injectors and putting tps on the carbs but tbh i'd rather cut the loom down and have away with the wiring and move the alternator relay/fuse into the engine bay instead of running all the way to the frunk i think i'll end up heading down the modified distrib...

Re: Giving the 3SGE another 2000rpm...

i'm also into building an n/a mr2die4 sounds pretty much nail on the head in comparison with what i've found out, although budget is important (partly the reason for my fuel system), cam's are essential, as are shimless buckets i'm doing carb's as i don't like ecu's [-( (and they're cheaper) jetting...

Re: Woodsport Rally car

I spotted the vacuum unit on the dizzy too. Looks like it's been properly converted to carbs. Unlike the setup we had when we got our rally car, it was running the standard ignition and ecu but in service mode I.e. Fixed timing. Not ideal for low rpm!! Was fine over 4 or 5k though. Personally I'd m...

Re: compression through the rev's

yeah that would be another option would need to confirm the compression is as low as thought but cost would have to be compared, it was more of a spur of the moment could we do it with scrappy bits and bobs kinda thought not sure if he's keeping the car now there's a really nice e30 325 with is gear...

Re: Why ban Britains best ever rally car!!!

yeah he was quick i was told he was just behind mikko hirvonen he had a very bad year but is a very good driver so extremely respectable i'm not implying he's cheated in anyway, i've no doubt he's read the rule book numerous times, what i mean is he's obviously spent alot of time setting the car up ...

Re: compression through the rev's

i'll be honest i'm not sure how it's done on the stock ecu but the ford people seem to buy a controller to run it as you say, i have heard of people splicing into loom's, i'm not sure about this i've never seen it working when spliced in, the cold start seem's to be a common place for the 5th inject...

Re: compression through the rev's

as for fifth injector on stock ECU, i think you should stay well away from the car well at least someone replied, you don't ask you won't learn. fifth injector has been done many times matey not sure if it's ever been done on mr2, but the cold start acts essentially as a fifth injector when operati...

Re: will a rev 1 n/a gearbox fit a rev 2 tubby engine

na gearboxes are capable of taking over 250hp LOL so why would Toyota make turbo boxes for???? Im guessing just for the fun of it? The shafts are thicker for a reason, the centre bearing is also there for a reason. Now let see what to replace the cheapest and more RELIABLE way 1st option = Tubby ge...
