Re: NW May Meet: Sunday 19th - bit of a run out

My mate Rob has asked if he can join us, he needs to give his newly rebuilt lancia monte carlo a shake down before driving to le mans and this seems an ideal opportunity. I told him the more the merrier as you guys are generally ok with non mr2 stuff turning up. Hope thats ok? Kris

Re: new suspension inserts !

Ha ha, it might have been funny to watch but its a trait I wont miss about my car, it was truly awful on the last run out we went on, could barely keep up with everyone else as it was bouncing and skipping about so much, it was a proper challenge to keep it on the road!

Re: new suspension inserts !

chris i am going down the kyb springs & shocks route in the next month or two, would be interested to know how you perceive the improvement to how it rides & handles afterwards :thumleft:

Saying that, anything would be better performing than my tired old suspension setup

Re: What a sad sight

What I do not really get is why Mk1'ers use either of them. A lot of us have our hoards of spare parts and breaker cars.. which we'd happily share with fellow enthusiasts.. these breakers are selling parts that a lot of us would give away or sell for postage costs. I'd urge any Mk1 enthusiast who i...

Re: What a sad sight

I believe he approached Jimi and tried to buy in bulk. Similarly I've been led to believe he tried to get his competitor to stop buying & selling "in his area" but this was politely declined. We are better off as a community with 2 larger scale breakers in competition with eachother, ...

Re: Panels

Phone your local toyota dealer, from what I have heard their price shouldn't be much different to the breakers price, possibly cheaper if you push them hard ask for trade discount, tell them you are a club member etc. I know cabby got a pair recently from his local dealer for less than that breaker ...

I know what you are saying, I was worried it would be overkill, so left it. I might get him to knock up a gaiter for me in suede to see how it looks.
