Sold the MR2 - thankyou and goodbye!
The end of an era! I just sold my second MR2... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/376181.htm I owned her for 2 years, and she never missed a beat despite some serious mileage on a daily basis. MOT and tax were about to expire, she needed some exhaust work to pass, and the new buyer spotted some rust ...

Now sold - for the pittiful sum of £800!
I can't finalize the advert - have the permissions changed for regular members? Anyway... sold to a non-member (through PistonHeads).

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Need a CAT to pass an MOT!
Noticed today that the throttle-stop screw has been sheared off - so now I need to drill out the leftovers just to get the car to idle properly! Could have been the MOT testers, but no evidence... I've taken the car off the road for a while (I have a spare car at the moment!) so that I can repair th...

It was a sensor from justlambda - worked a treat for a while!

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Need a CAT to pass an MOT!
Car is definately over-fuelling, will have to check the lambda connections - might need a replacement sensor (existing one is less than a year old).
Even so, doubt I'll meet emissions requirements without a cat...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Need a CAT to pass an MOT!
Hmmm... the car has been smelling a bit fuelly recently... perhaps my O2 sensor has died after all.
This could get expensive again!

The VT30 says:

CO then, but not sure what causes it...

Thanks for the offer Rob - I'll PM you about collection.
Doubt it's the O2 sensor - replaced it a few months ago - although I suppose it might have failed...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Need a CAT to pass an MOT!
My 1992 car was first registered after august, so it needs a cat. Emissions were way over the limits for the cat test, so I don't think a tank of vmax is going to do the job

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Need a CAT to pass an MOT!
I'm in Winchester, just off junction 11 of the M3. I'm happy to travel to do a swap/borrow though!
I'm not too worried about performance, so if anyone would like to do a permanent swap of their cat for my mongoose stainless decat pipe, let me know!

[Mk2] [NA] Need a CAT to pass an MOT!
My 1992 UK car just failed on emissions for the first time ever. It is fitted with a Mongoose exhaust and decat pipe. Unfortunately, since it was first registered AFTER August 1992, I think it does need a CAT (please correct me if I'm wrong) so I'm probably not going to get anywhere arguing with my ...

Is this really 2350 and not a a typo for 3250?
And if it really is £2350, why on earth hasn't anyone bought it yet? I'm shocked!

Yours is a rev1 car (mine is rev2) but looks very nice! Perhaps 1k is all they are worth - in which case I'm keeping mine forever!
Enjoy your new MR2...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] "What's it worth?" (I can't believe I just said that...)
Thanks for the advice - have updated my pistonheads advert for now with the mileage in the mileage box (!) and a lower price. To be honest, I'm not desperate to sell (hence no autotrader advert yet) - there isn't a load of money tied up in the car (ie. I don't have to sell for financial reasons) and...

Haha - I don't spend a lot of time reading "what's it worth" threads, but now I find myself writing one! I'm thinking of selling my UK rev2 MR2. It's got a few motorway miles now (135k) but is very tidy (near mint condition). Details are on Pistonheads: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/376...

For Sale: 1992 rev2 UK MR2 - Steel Mist Grey - £1695 ono
Depsite being complemented on the car nearly every day (!) I'm going to do the unthinkable and swap the MR2 for a diesel with 4 seats... Re: [Mk2] [Generic] "Light" front end... and lower arm bushes?
Tyres are fitted well. Definately worn components up front, it's "wobbly" rather than just pulling. I'll MOT it soon and see what it fails on!

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] "Light" front end... and lower arm bushes?
Thanks for the suggestion - and I'm sure the rear does need tracking again - but if you drove my car you'd realise something FAR more serious was wrong! In fact I probably shouldn't be driving it! Under braking or hard acceleration it seems to tug at the steering wheel a bit. This was a symptom of w...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] "Light" front end... and lower arm bushes?
Fitted new rear balljoints, but still twitchy!
Fairly sure it's the front end now, perhaps it is the lower arm bushes wearing out after all.
Anyone ever swapped these, either the entire arm ($$) or just the bushes for some poly ones? Is it an easy DIY job?
