Rear Bumper Retaining Bar

Advice please as I need to replace the metal retaining bar under the rear bumper. What non-rusting bolts do you suggest I use as the originals had the nuts welded on the bumper and long since rusted/broken off? Also how do I get inside the bumper to put the nuts on the inside?

Mr Clutch any good?

After 128K miles my MK1B clutch has decided to start slipping. Has anyone tried Mr Clutch? or recommend someone in the London/Surrey area. Also what can I expect to pay?

Re: Waterproof covers for the Mk1

Got the cover from classicadditions, great job, easy to fit and remove, covers the roof and windows perfectly.

Waterproof covers for the Mk1

Can anyone recommend a good waterproof cover (roof and windows only) for the MK1, including the size?

Re: 'Clunking' drivers window

Many thanks 'twosrus', the instructions were of great assistance. Now the window is working normally again with the installation of a new cog.

'Clunking' drivers window

Took the door card off which reveals a tooth missing from the left side cog (which presumably is the problem). If I get a replacement gog how easy is it to replace? I note there are at least 15 screws to remove the metal casing, what nightmare awaits?? :pale:

Re: Wipers

Just one more query, Halfords imputted my index number which resulted in a 20" wiper for the driver and a 14" for the passenger. Seems a little short for the passenger side folks?

Just tried two sets of wipers from Halfords and the don't fit the straight wiper arm on the Mk1, any suggestions?

Re: t-bar with a leak

I've used Vaseline for many years on a Mk1 without any problem, just requires regular application i.e. perhaps twice a year.
