Re: 2nd gear synchro rings..........easy ???

I htink I need a new box then, as mine has this problem. Only does it during a traffic light grand prix, it's ok if you're driving economically. but who the hell in their right mind wants to do that?????? Russ, why haven't you asked for mine? You know it's good. Shall I put it in the garage for whe...

Re: what do you do when you see another one...?

I tend to only wave at MK1s now as i keep waving at ford probes. Also i feel the MK1 has very little in common with the MK2  . just wave at them out your passenger window when they're sat on the hard shoulder.... Russ get that picture on here from the weekend (not the one of 2 gimps in a g...

Very nice mate, don't suppose you need any parts off my crashed helios then?? lol

Please send me a PM when it's coming up for sale and I'll see how much I've managed to get in the post-crash fund.

Cheers

A bit of extra ballast won't hurt, might help the back end maintain traction in the wet.

Re: Repair or sell?

Russ is right. I'll sell you mine for £150. Best be quick though as I'm breaking it and no engine bits gone yet, although it's only a matter of time. Check my posts about my crash and parts http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=100797&highlight= http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?...

Re: mileage ok? plus... quite a day for my car!

I get about 20-23mpg around town. Sounds like some peple arnt enjoying the TVIS as much as they should be :thumleft: I don't think anyone can accuse me of not enojoying the engine like it should after my recent posts. I get around 30-35 all the time. And I know where the bottom of the accelerator t...

Re: mileage ok? plus... quite a day for my car!

well, after raping my car last weekend, he went and got his own on saturday. he got a light blue MK1b, 185k on clock and pretty solid all round. arches have been patched up and look ok, not sure how long they'll last for thuogh, but rest of the car is sound, even has original tool kit, t-bar bags a...

Re: Smashed my mk1b t-bar,

As with all the parts off this car, any inspection is welcome prior to purchase and I'll even accept returns as long as the seller pays the postage both ways. you must have hit your head pretty hard lol erm yeah actually I did, and the whip lash is starting to kick in now too. Better get on the M1 ...

Re: Smashed my mk1b t-bar,

That'd be good, but I dont know of my financial situation until next wednesday, so if you have any other offers for it, i'm out of it :( Watch this space mate. You might get a bargain off me if you're willing to have an exhaust that's been abused. As with all the parts off this car, any inspection ...

Re: Smashed my mk1b t-bar,

That looks very nasty mate! Glad your okay! You say you've a custom exhaust? Is it damaged in any way? I am facing possible redundancy next wednesday, but would be interested.... It might be a little tender as am I. I'd expect about £150 if it was mint, but it ain't. Not sure how far from mint it i...

Re: Smashed my mk1b t-bar,

Looks like a sweeping bend, back end goes, impact at 90deg to the road, then a half spin and the back end goes in afterwards. Just my guess, marks on the kerb will tell the tale. You don't have to be going it too much for that to happen. Once a car starts to slide you realise how much bloody energy...

Re: Smashed my mk1b t-bar,

I'll let Brad give oyu the full details, but it was a nice left hand bend, back end started to drift off, then the back wheels got some grip again and sent him straight for the wall. It's normally a fun part of road to drive, but when it's wet, stuff like this happens... speed limit on that road is...

Events of the day - update

May i ask how it happened? Looks really bad, you must of been going some. You may indeed ask how it happened. Here's the facts, I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions for legal reasons. 0540 in the morning wet greasy road but not much rain on my way to the train station notoriously bad road ( ...

Smashed my mk1b t-bar,

Hi, some of you know me and my mk1b but most don't. Anyway it is no more as i lost it on a bend this morning and took out a dry stone wall, hitting it with 3 corners before flicking me back into the middle of the road. Good news- I didn't have any passengers(yes i know there is only 1 passenger seat...
