For sale is my 1997, P reg, rev 4.

This was my first MR2 and I've enjoyed every minute of ownership. The only reason I'm selling is because I've upgraded to a rev 3 Turbo.

The car has been well maintained with lots of history and receipts. Since buying the car at 48,000 miles, I have undertaken most of the servicing and maintenance. It has had a new standard clutch fitted shortly after I purchased the car. This work was completed by Peter @ SBITS, so you know it was a very professional job.
The cambelt had been replaced by the previous owner at 45,000 miles.
Reconditioned calipers on the front.

Brand new tyres on the rear. Fronts are used but legal.



The car is completely factory apart from these subtle modifications,

Blueflame cat-back exhaust, in almost new condition. No scratches, no dents and regularly autosol'd. (original backbox available)
Blitz Induction kit. (original air box available).
HEL braided brake lines all round.
Red stitched, leather gear stick and handbrake gaitors.
Red stitched, leather gear knob re-trimmed by Rhon.



The bodywork/ paint is in brilliant condition. Obviously it has the odd stone chip here and there, as to be expected with a car of this age.



The interior is full black leather and is in pristine condition.
Factory Toyota head unit. T-bar blinds and covers all present and in perfect condition.


EDIT - 3rd August 2014
Car's been recently MOT'd - During this, I had a good chance to look underneath and drive it again. Unfortunately, I have found the start of some rust at the very end of the sill where it meets the rear wheel arch. It is still solid (checked at MOT station) just perforated at the end. I have treated it with a rust inhibitor and sealer.
Also noticed that the clutch biting point is quite high and can be induced to slip on a 'spirited' drive. As it's only 12k miles old, I can't see how it could be worn out
Price has been adjusted accordingly...

Your ad gives the impression it has been sorn for a long time. You might get more interest if you put it back on the road and drive it from time to time which helps keep everything working. It will soon be Tbar season.

Rev 3 Turbos are available for less money, and I know which I would rather have. I notice you got a rev3 turbo to replace it.

Appreciate your comment. It has been sorn for a while but that doesn't mean it's just been neglected. It's still cleaned and maintained and made sure everything is still in working order.

Correct, rev3 turbos are available for less money, but you won't get a car anywhere near the condition this is in. It's up at this price for a reason. Although I am open to offers.

I can put 6 months tax on it, no problem. But I don't see the point if no one is buying it. Just seems like a bit of a waste, you know.

You know it is being maintained but it was not obvious to buyers it was still being maintained in working order so the comment was probably helpful.

I know what you mean about not wasting money taxing it if nobody is buying it. I have the same issue with my rev3 tubby that isnt selling although I decided to tax it for 6 months so I can take it for an mot in a couple of weeks.

With not tax or mot I cat see it being that fun anyway I work 6days a week it its just too far. gutting as its a real nice car.
