[Mk2] [NA] 3S-GE Super charger???

Post by marcnoonan »

Hello,

As all N/A owners will agree, we want more power.  without going through the tubby route before you all chip in.

I've seen the supercharger conversion on the V6 and also on the 3S-FE engines but couldn't find any that have been done on the 3S-GE.

Hopefully Woodsy will be able to chip in here, but is it possible, what sort of gains would be expected and price?

All ideas greatfully received

Cheers

Marc

Thanks Jonny,

Up to page 3 of 13 so far, like this bit..................

so now for ~ $5k how many 5S owners would be interested in 220 whp? and for 3S owners we could up it to > 15psi and around 275 whp? but all this is off idle and with a great torque curve.

Probably drop lower the more pages I go

Cheers

i agree with johnny, lots of money for not much gain...and it will only be capable of 5 psi or so on stock injectors/ecu.....not to mention CR is too high for more boost.

You would be better off starting with a 3sgte engine and supercharging that but then many would argue just leave the turbo on it....

In terms of having a xxxx cool project though id love to SC a 3sgte just to be different and get rid of lag... but doing it to a 3sge for me is just a step in the wrong direction for loads of cost, just my 2p worth.

goldy slapped an m45 eaton unit onto a 3sfe a few years ago with mixed results..... definately not worth the effort on a 3sge or fe,would be cool to do this to a gte though

I'd love to see a Whipple on the 3SGTE (rev 3 onwards with the slightly lower compression) and winding it up a bit. I think it'd go like a turd off a highly chromed shovel.
