[Mk2] [Turbo] How do you Rotate the shifter cube 90 degrees?

Post by mr2_ash »

Hi guys,

Could anyone possibly give me a quick how to on rotating the brass shifter cube 90 degrees?

Mine seems quite worn which is causing quite considerable side to side play whilst in gear almost as if the gear shift is in neutral.

Plan to do this along with a gearbox oil change tomorrow to try and sharpen up the gear change.

Cheers

Bit of info here if you haven't seen it: http://www.mr2australia.com/bettergears ... 3parts.pdf

Also have a look on mr2oc.com as the US site often has info on this sort of thing.

Simply undo the 14mm bolt that hols the lever in place. Lift up, rotate cube, refit and tighten bolt.

Thanks for the info Peter! Did the job in 5 mins this way and didn't have to touch the starter motor

This along with your shifter bushes and new gearbox oil has improved the shift no end!

Thanks
