[Mk2] [Turbo] 800cc Injectors

Post by Poker Face »

Hi I have a rev 2 turbo with an AEM ems and boost controller the engine was is from a GT4 with a CT-20b fitted, dcat, aftermarket charge cooler and induction filter.

Was thinking about putting in some 800cc injectors as part of my gradual upgrades. I know I will need to map the injectors but is there anything else I will need? Also more importantly is it worth while with what I have at the moment ?

1001-87096 is the part number for the ones I have seen £150 bin on ebay.

Jim.

Some may disagree, but for the power & torque that 800's can deliver with added boost, I would fit forged pistons first. I would also get an uprated clutch.

I suppose if I go for forged pistons I could get the injector done at the same time.

That gives me something to think about.

800's in a stock motor is pointless. You would gain nothing until you forge and fit larger turbo etc.

Plus these are top feed injectors, you would need a top feed fuel rail to suit, like the wolfkat ones

Thanks for the info Jonny and guys I value your opinions if I do his its going to be a big and expensive job. I'll try and put some money to one side when I sell the Mrs's motor.

I want a bit more power you see. When I had the car back earlier this year it seemed great but after a bit it just didn't feel as quick. I got it dyno'd and was about the same.

Once again thanks, better start saving.

I have been thinking things over and doing a bit of research and its all well and good saying do xy&z all together. I can only afford to do a bit at a time. If I was to save the money would end up being used for something else I can assure you of that.
Stock pistons are meant to be good for 400bhp. So given I'm going to have to pay someone to do the work as I don't have the time or know how. Should I go for injectors after a forge piston upgrade?

At the moment I have fitted.

Engine and turbo from a St-205
AEM ems
Aftermarket exhaust
Ebc
Induction kit and piping from air vent and scoop(Won't make any difference I'm sure)
Aftermarket cc and fan

I want about 400bhp and I am prepared to do it in steps. I can't justify ridiculous spends in one go on my 'fun' car and I will get more longevity out of my motor even though it will cost more in the long run.
