Is it possible to use 7A bottom end parts to uprate the 4A ?

You use the bottom end of the 4afe and the head of the 4age to create the 7age.

As for using the internals in the 4a which is what I think you mean, have a google, it'll be answered somewhere on the US forums as there are a fair few 7age conversions out there.

Lol. I'm just feeling around in the dark as usual :)

As I understand so far, the 7A was used in the Carina E & Avensis in 1.8 litre (& poss 2 litre form)

Will google

Thanks for the link Mart. Interesting :-k

Dont see 7A as a way forward. Sacrificing revs for torque plus fragile flywheel fastening

5A is interesting but too costly & limited gain

Gonna have to go 3S or V6 in t'long run I think

I'd love to see someone build a well sorted hi boost 7a-gte, i think it would be immense, although it would be £5k plus, i reckon it would be extremely cool.

Problem is it would probably make more sense to start with the 2zz 1.8 platform and turbo that.

None of these projects are ever cheap though!

There was a 7a-gze kicking around years ago but it didn't stay together for long.

Pah, I added up the shopping list for my car and it was over 5k. Far too easy to spend money! On the upside, EP Imports say they have no problem shipping to England - but air only!

I've seen a 7a-gze in an AE86 massive build and it seemed to be holding up fine, almost considered buying the car actually! Is that the one you mean as I haven't seen it for a bit.

Also had an SC14 on it IIRC, or was that a different 7agze.

Yes that's right, pretty sure we're thinking of the same one, wide bodied AE86?

I would estimates about 230-250bhp, the same spec with a turbo instead of charger would make 300-400+bhp

My 4agze is very similarish in spec (bit less)
