Milton Keynes/Classic car show meet Sunday 7th August

Post by stevenb »

Hi,

I am inviting all who can attend to a Milton Keynes meet on Sunday 7th August at the Caldecotte Arms Pub.

http://www.yell.com/search/ShowMap?nat_ ... bleSeed%3D

The above link shows where the site is with a contact telephone number.

http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi? ... ale=200000

This above link shows a smaller scale map.

The access to the venue is great with both the A5 and M1 being just a few mins. drive away.

Would be looking to meet at about 11am onwards. Meet up and have lunch if possible if you wish (the food is very nice \:D/ ). The usual owners gossip and everything else that goes on in a meet.

Some on here will know this place as the SXOC use it for meets.
I have also been at this venue with the FTOOC and Honda Revolutions.

There are ample parking facilities and the location is great.......
p.s. The weather for the first 2 weeks in August is supposed to be much much better.

So,

If you put you names down then we can get an idea of numbers.

At the moment I have

1)me
2) Gareth (mk1 club)
3)andy (mk1 club)

p.s. sorry for the HUGE links.

Put me down as a maybe - Not sure if I'm on standby yet or not.

USC is only 15 minutes up the road from me, but you'll never find me there - it's just one big agressive chav-fest... If you're into your nova's, corsa's, burbury (SP?), enjoy getting into pi$$ed-up fights and setting other peoples property on fire then you'll enjoy it

Nice one Garrick. Im actually interested in making this day even better. There is a Classic car show in a village about 7 or 8 miles down the road near Leighton Buzzard. If we met at the Caldecotte Arms then we could convoy down to it. I'm just going to find out prices and times etc.
Keep watching.

Ok

There is a Classic car show being held at Stockwell Farm in Eggington village on this day. So I thought it better if we were to coincide this with the Milton keynes meet.

The idea is to meet at the Caldecotte Arms still at 10am if possible and then at 10.30am head down to the show where we will have a dedicated parking area for our MR2's.

I have spoken to the event organiser and I need numbers for Friday PM so he can allocate the right sized pitch for us.
There will be various car clubs no doubt of all types of classic cars. There will be Porsche's there and a Ferrari that can be won for a day's driving in the event raffle.
Entrance to the event is free but they would like a charitable donation if possible as all the money is going to the CHILDRENS HOSPITAL TSUNAMI APPEAL FUND.

For those who can't make Milton Keynes but can make the show I have listed the location on Multimap links.

The first being the smaller scale. 2 mins drive off the A5 and it's all signposted so you can't miss it.

http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi? ... 000&addr1=

The 2nd link shows the farm.....althought the farm isn't named on the map it's just off the A4012.
The event itself is being held in the field opposite the farm.

http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi? ... imap.y=114

The idea is that if you can meet at MK then we'll take the A5 straight to the show. It's only about 8 miles away so don't panic about travelling. It takes 15-20 mins to get there from the Caldecotte Arms.

Please try to attend as this will be an excellent day out.

P.s. the Farm shop st Stockwell Farm sells loads of fresh food and home produce. No doubt they'll be the usual Burger van there but the farm shop sells drinks and snacks too.
Infact looking at my flyer I can see......cars, Bouncy Castle, Food and Drink And more!!!!!!!!

Hope to see you all SUNDAY 7th August. :D

Anyone who wants to attend the classic car meet has 24 hours to let me know. You can still attend but you'll have to pay £5. If you let me know by 17.00 tomorrow (Friday 5th August) I can get you in for free on a clubstand.

As long as not too many people don't laugh not realising my car is still a work in progress... (a few temporary repairs hidden by gaffer tape  )

This event is going to be very big I expect. The local Mayor is opening the show at 10.30am sadly I think we'll miss it unless we can get to MK meet point early. From the meet point it takes about 15 mins max to get there.
They are even having the local news crew into this event.

Lets hope it's as good as it promises to be. Maybe then it can be a club annual event. :D
