[Mk2] [Turbo] Lowering Advice

Post by TubbyTTop »

I'm contemplating upgrading from the standard suspension on my Rev 2 turbo to improve the handling and also the look.
I can't really afford to go for a coilover set up so am going to opt for some lowering springs. But I've got a bit of a strange concern.

My car has a Motoria exhaust system. This system sits pretty low down. If I lower the car by 40mm will it cause the exhaust to scrape? I'll try to ge t a pic up soon but if anyone else has the same system maybe you can advise me?

Also, would a 40mm drop be too much on 17 inch wheels? I think the Tein ones drop the car by 30mm which is proably better. Finally what springs would you reccomend.

I know its all a bit of a mish mash of questions but any advice would be appreciated

Thanks in advance :thumleft:

i got tein springs on mine and they drop the height by 37mm i think, it should be ok with the motoria exhaust aswell

if you fancy waiting a while until my engine is fitted and a motoria exhaust i will be able to take some pics for you...

Thanks that would be a good idea, I'm in no rush to lower it yet anyway as I need to take car of a few maintance jobs first. Today the front scraped coming of my brothers driveway so now I'm in too minds about lowering it.

Look forward to seeing some pics of when you have the exhaust fitted :)
