[Mk2] [Turbo] Dyno graphs 5 runs - 5 different ones why is that ??

Post by Kubus »

hello :)
finally got to my mates dyno....
but we are confused - have no idea why is that ...

the first picture is 12.5 PSI was losing some pressure over the WG pipe
after fixing it was boosting nice 18 psi ( dont look at the boost graph it's wrong as the selenoid at the dyno was broken )
all 4 at 18 psi - all weird as hell - no check engine - no fault codes - everything works "fine".....anyone got an idea ??

First 12.5 PSi - 4th gear

Image

2nd run 18 psi as mapped 2 years ago - 4th gear.

3rd run 18 psi - 5th gear

4th run 18 psi - 4th gear

5tg run 18 psi - 4th gear

Could be heatsoak - engine getting too hot while on the dyno and the ecu retarding the ignition as it gets hotter. Cars ALWAYS run hotter on a dyno as it wont ever have efficient enough cooling.

What have you done to your car?

forged pistons
metal headgasket
rev 3 inlet cam
Blitz bag Ct26 turbo rebuilt by TT
Greddy intercooler ( the fan is always on cause the temp sensor is unpluged )
Departure exhaust
C2 downpipe
Rev 3 injectors
Unichip and boost module
Aquamist water injection (next to TB for detonation control)

below the graph i got from the last owner ( 2.5 years ago when it was mapped - didnt do anything to it since that )

How are your ignition components?

The first graph at 12.5psi looks fine but as soon as you turn it up you have problems, you cant really compare the 5th gear run because the loading is different.

When was the last time you replaced the distributor cap, rotor arm, plugs, leads, coil etc?

What are your plugs gapped to?

Could also be a bad rev/tach pickup on the dyno, but that normally causes blank spot in the graph.

the only graph that makes sense to me is the one that is 2.5years old, 260ish at the wheels....
which is around 300-310fly.... (dont believe the high losses of engine advantages dyno)

why is it all in a different language?
prob would help if it was in english....
