It's electric mate. Check first of all it's plugged in But it's more than likely the sensor.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev2 speedo
I have the same problem on mine. Is it possible to get at it with the rear gear box mount in place? I can see 3 screws and a nut. I assume I need to get to the nut to get the whole unit out. Is this correct?
Cheers.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev2 speedo
Anyone help? Anyone one.... help?
I've had the problem for a while and keep going back to it to try to get the sensor off. On my spare engine I can take the cover off (three screws) but can't seem to remove the whole unit. It appears to be held in place by one bolt which seems pretty inaccessable with the engine in place.
Question is - Is it just me or is it bloody difficult to get to? Can I get to it without removing the rear box mount? Does the whole sensor have have to come out or just the plastic cover? Once out what the heck do I do with it then?
(I'm new to the Mk2 having had Mk1's for years. The Mk1 was definately a simpler car with no electronic nonsense!)
Cheers
