MR2 Turbo Rev2 GTS - 12 Months MOT - Brilliant Condition

Post by R220 »

Genuine reason for sale - I don't want to sell really but im buying a house with the misses and she has a more sensible car and we do need all the money we can grasp!

1992 Toyota MR2 Turbo
GTS Model (Lighter than GT, also has Limited slip diff)
Rev 2 (Benefits larger brakes & up rated suspension over the Rev1) ~ I owned a rev1 before this car and you can certainly tell the difference, much improved handling characteristics on this rev2.

New MOT – Expires February 2009
Taxed until end February 2008

Recent cambelt change / also had new water pump fitted.

I'm the first UK owner of the car. I have owned it since July 2006

The car is in very good condition inside and out. Paintwork is brilliant and does not suffer any scars / scratches. There is one small area of rust which is on the very bottom of the passenger side door, but apart from that its great. Must be seen in the flesh to be appreciated.

I have modified a few pieces as follows –

Genuine Apexi N1 Exhaust (quite loud, standard system very cheap if you prefer)
XS Power Downpipe (decat)
Genuine HKS (Super MegaFlow) induction kit
Greddy Front Lip (I still have the original lip if you prefer)
Fuel cut defender (stops fuel cutting out when running higher boost)
Grainger Valve (control boost) – Has been set to a safe 0.9bar, never over 1bar !
Additional Boost Gauge

The only issues with the car is the central locking doesn't work if you use the key on the drivers door lock. The electrics are fine as it works ok on passenger door and if you use the switch inside the car on either door it works fine. It must be something to do with the sensor in the actual door lock barrel in the driver's door. Not that it's a huge issue. It's been like that since I owned the car and has never really bothered me. You can still lock the door from the drivers side it just wont lock the passenger door aswell. The other item is the aircon is not working and again has not worked at all since I owned the car. This is most likely a £50 regas required. I never use aircon so didn't ever have a regas done.

Mileage still in km's (all Jap imports start in km's but usually converted to mph). I kept it in km's so that the mileage stayed accurate. Currently mileage translates to just under 57k. It is a £10 chip which you can get from most Jap tuner company or good old eBay which converts everything to mph if you prefer.

Overall it's a very fun car. It is genuinely fast and I do stress to get an insurance quote before enquiring as it can shock some people. Gearbox / engine condition is great, never had any issues at all. Always starts up first time every time.

Price - £2500
